Hi Ladies, I'm really hoping you can help me out because I don't trust my judgment here. I tend to WAY over/under estimate things.
I am hosting 17 people on Thursday. 16 adults, 1 child. The only thing I'm concerned about is the potatoes. I'm making mashed potatoes and the standard sweet potatoes. How many potatoes do you think I need? Not everyone will eat both kinds, but I don't want to not have enough. I don't care if I have leftovers, I'm just worried about running out. How do you estimate the number of potatoes to buy? Is there a good rule to follow?
This could very well be a dumb question, but I've never cooked for this many people before, and I really just want it to be a great day.
