I have been feeling EXTREMELY overwhelmed with convertible carseat decisions. This is what we are hoping to get for my husband's truck because it has a very small backseat. I understand it will still take up a lot of room rear facing but if we put it in the center, there will be plenty of room because it can kind of recline into the front seat (does that make sense?). Is that safe? We have a ways to go with rear facing as our son is only 9 months.
He is not in this truck much. I do most of the pick ups and drop offs at daycare and if we do anything on the weekends we normally take my Nissan Murano. I was also considering getting one of these for my car. Two of these are kind of REALLY expensive. Ideally, it would be nice to get a cheaper seat for his truck and the nicer more expensive for mine. We could always move mine if we ever want to take his truck for longer trips. Is there another seat out there, like the Cosco Scenera, that may not take up much space in a tiny truck back seat?
Also, how long will he be in this seat? At what point do they move to a booster?
We have a Diono Radian in H's extended cab truck and it was the only one we could find that worked. If you get it, also buy the angle adjuster. It helps with how far it leans into the front seat.

The Radian with the angle adjuster is the only seat that fits RFing in my husband's truck (Dodge Ram). We bought it specifically for the truck even though its rarely used. I just like knowing we have another car that the kids can go in if necessary.
Our Radians (two different models) have a 10 year expiration, a weight limit of like 125 lbs, and also serve as booster seats. We bought two when he was a newborn and don't plan to ever buy anything again.
