Here's a pic of what Jackson and Scarlett will wear and bonus pic of their cousin's outfits that will also coordinate. That's for our casual Christmas. I usually have a few casual Christmas outfits and one dressy for mass. I'll be back with the mass outfits.
Jackson is wearing jeans or cargo pants with this shirt (pic 2 of just the shirt) and a red henley.
Scarlett will be wearing a black velvet and red plaid dress made by HBC.
Wait--HBC does custom orders? For real?
Idk if she does it regularly but I was complaining about how I couldn't find the perfect super traditional Christmas dress in the color/plaid I wanted, she offered.
I imagine PTS as a young Katherine Hepburn with her pants and blazers...and expensive tastes..
That's really all I have to add here, except that I approve.
I have to say that 99% of the time, I really don't care that she won't wear dresses. But at Christmas and Easter, it makes shopping SO fucking hard. They have a school choir thing that they're supposed to wear the Christmas clothes for.
Also, I am just going to say that it should not be that hard to find a spiffy christmas outfit for a girl that does not involve tule and taffeta and bows and sequines. I really think there should be pants outfits for Christmas for girls. I am NOT the only mother of a "tomboy."
I was looking for something Christmas-y that was pants and a top for my niece. Because of her age, dresses are just a pain. She's 18m and pants and tops are just easier for her to get around in. I got her that gray/white reindeer top and red cords from Carters. They also had a cute red/black buffalo plaid tunic that would look cute with leggings or cords too.
If you can sell her on a color other than red, this one at Land's End is so cute (http://www.landsend.com/products/girls-tweed-button-front-jacket/id_274178). Mini Coco Chanel. I die.

Omg I love that! I have some things Scarlett could wear with that.
Lands End reminded me though - check uniform sections. Some carry blazers in a variety of colors.

Gap has cute skinny cords in black for kids. Is PTS literal? And by that I mean if she said she wanted red blazer and pants does she mean RED BLAZER AND PANTS, or would she potentially buy into the concept of red sweater, pants, and boots--or a red blazer, skirt and boots?
That's a coat. Black boots should be easy--will she do ankle?
This is LilShirley's Christmas dress. A poster on MMM posted it and I loved it and ordered it. I even coordinated my own with it. I'm stupid excited for her to wear it.

I mean. That is fucking adorable. With some black satin pants and some boots...
Idk what we are doing yet. I was going to do Christmas pjs but now I'm not sure. DS has 8 million pjs already.
I could go silly and get DS like a silly elf outfit I saw. But what to put DD in?
Or I could just go formal and put DS in his sweater vest or button-down and tie onesie. DD has some semi-formal stuff. But those aren't very "Christmassy".

we went clothes shopping for the kids at a brick and mortar mall yesterday!
We did seriously well. I was goaling on getting a few good dressy outfits for the kids. My IL's are going to be here over Christmas, and we have relatives who've just moved here, so we're going to be doing more than our usual Christmas tradition of just hanging around the house playing with our new toys.
H&M, ten freaking bucks. DD loved it so, I couldn't refuse.
She got two other dresses at Gap outlet, which were really fantastic (and the store was totally worth going to as everything was half off as a pre-BF thing). One's retro styled, black bodice, black/white very wide stripe skirt. The other is a LS-tee shirt style, purple with cream stars, shiny ribbon belt.
She also got a pair of mint green skinny pants with a really cool green sweater (jeweled neckline) to go with.
She's psyched for a fancypants holiday wardrobe.
DD got a red plaid shirt at Gap, as well as this sweater:
...some nice pants from H&M, and this sweater:
H&M, man... not only was Bella's dress a fantastical $10... the pants for DS were $7, and that sweater was $5. We are SET.
I even got a pretty fantastic outfit myself. But, we're just talking about kids clothes, so I won't go into that.

DD has a uniform blazer from Gap that she loves like a fat kid loves cake. One of the reasons is that it's made of a knit material, heavy, like sweatshirt material, so it has some give and is warm. But she likes the style enough that I'm now keeping an eye open for other blazers for her.
that's the Indiana Dennis store. Dennis is like THE maker/seller of private school uniforms. My guess is that they do a red blazer and it'll be spendy, but not crazy, and really well made.
You can only buy their "basics" line through their website, and that doesn't include blazers.
