My mom is devastated (okay maybe that word is a little strong) because nephew refuses to watch Frozen with her. He says it is a "girl movie". I am trying to convince her that it is perfectly acceptable to watch the movie on her own (I did) and doesn't need a kid to justify it.
But it made me wonder: I have heard pretty much every little girl out there go nuts for it. Do boys enjoy it too?
Yes, David really liked. It made me sad, the other day he said "Mommy! Don't tell anyone I like Frozen!" lol and . His cousin also claims to hate it but when he spent the night, I caught them singing and dancing to Let It Go. Hahahahahaha.

I have mostly boys in my pre-k class. We use the songs during movement time. The first time I turned it on, most of the the boys squealed just as much as the girls, "It's FROZEN!!" Several of them knew all the words. One little boy knows all the words to all the songs. He told me it's one of his favorite movies.
I did have one mom recently tell me in a somewhat disapproving tone, "You have my son singing Frozen! He was cleaning his room the other day and I heard him singing that 'Let It Go' song at the top of his lungs."
Rocco loved it and all our friends' boys did too. There is nothing cuter than seeing a group of 3-7 year old boys belting out 'Let it Go' with wild abandon!
My 4 year old nephew is waaay more into Frozen than my DD. My mom was actually lamenting the other day that all of the merchandise seems to be marketed toward girls. (Not that my nephew couldn't wear a pink and purple backpack if he wanted to ... but why does it have to SCREAM that this is something for girls?)
DS (6) used to like it, but after the 100th viewing by his little sister decided he hates it. He even made up his own song, "I hate this song", sung to the tune of "Let it Go".
DS liked it when he was in kindergarten and during the summer after. Now that he is a grown-up 1st grader it's "just for girls".
This happened in kindergarten for us. His best friend told him Frozen is for girls. I didn't know until he was coming over for a playdate and he told me not to tell him. Sigh.

This is pretty much how it went down in our house.
