Family's 'Frozen' cover nets $10K a month

Plenty of folks have figured out how to create “Frozen”-themed videos that break the Internet this year. But one Utah family has found a way to cash in on the trend, too.



Robbie Bagley and his siblings rake in between $7,000 and $10,000 a month on their “real-life” song-cover videos, including Disney faves “In Summer” and “Love Is An Open Door,” according to KSL Utah. Though the family’s YouTube channel, “Working With Lemons," launched in 2008, it hit the big time in March of this year with its first viral hit, a cover of "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?"




When the video garnered tons of attention — it has more than 87 million views to date — Bagley negotiated with Disney for copyright licenses, leading to the thousands in revenue. As for the original inspiration to cover the Disney princess’s song, Bagley tells KSL, “I thought my sister Mia pretty much looks exactly like that Anna girl.”



According to the family’s YouTube channel profile, the siblings (it’s not clear how many there are) started making videos while still in high school, using “a $150 camera and a Mac, which had Garageband and iMovie on it. As the title says, we were working with lemons.”


The Bagleys reportedly plan to release their version of “Let it Go” sometime this holiday season. We’ll be watching and waiting.

We have watched this video so many times at our house!!!

We just watched the "love is an open door" one this weekend and my H and I had the same response. Who ARE these people? Why do they do this? How do they have so much time?

I feel like all my questions have been answered!
