Two weeks ago our housemate said he would get the turkey for Thanksgiving, and my H and myself would take care of all the sides.
Well yesterday as my H was putting away groceries, that included all the stuff for TG, the housemate says "I was thinking about all of us just going to Denny's for Thanksgiving dinner and I will pay", my H shot that down because we already bought stuff for sides.
Here is the problem. The housemate has not ordered a turkey. Does he have a chance of getting a pre-ordered turkey or should my H just buy a turkey today to cook on TG?
Update.
I went and and got a small 10lb turkey. We will have more than enough turkey so that we can freeze some.
My H told the LH (lazy housemate) that I was going to buy one and my H will let him know how much LH owes us. LH says oh, ok that sounds great, a lot easier than having to order a turkey.

I agree with PPs. Just buy a turkey. It's so easy to cook, it will be your safest bet to get some. Better yet, send housemate to the store with explicit instructions on which turkey to get. Let him/her deal with the crowds.
Denny's ? Denny's? Uh, no. I'd rather stay home and just eat the dudes you got. Best part anyway.
Well, yeah, the housemate is a jerk, but suggesting that she EAT HIM is a little severe...
I am going to go buy a turkey today and I will be the one cooking it since this guys thinks Walmart potato salad is gourmet food. :/
This housemate is my BEC, ever since the day he asked me what I do all day, because from the moment your H gets home he is taking care of your kid. Yeah this guy bugs me.

Buy the turkey and hand him the receipt.
My mom has this arrangement with her friend. Friend always comes over for holidays and doesn't want to cook or shop. She always pays for the meat. Mom hands her the receipt, friend writes a check. Done!
Whenever I think of Dennys I think of the scene from Santa Clause where Tim Allen looks around the room and it's all these single dad's with burn injuries. That is how I picture it on holidays at Dennys. ::little wave with a mummy bandaged hand::

CurlyQ284, yeah this guy sucks. Come to find out LH wanted to order a turkey because that is how his mom does it, but his mom has always ordered it herself and apparently LH doesn't or can't do it himself.
Lol yes, that's how I pictured the Denny's too. This is the first year my DS will actually eat TH dinner with silverware and a real plate, and I am glad it's not going to be at Denny's. Not to knock anyone who likes Denny's, it's just not for me.
