Do you have a backup plan in case your Thanksgiving plans don't pan out? We're supposed to pick up FIL and then drive to see MH's family about an hour away. I suggested to MH that FIL stay with us on Wednesday ... that way if we can drive we won't have to go pick him up, and if we get snowed in he's not by himself.
I may pick up something nice in case we need a backup dinner on Thursday, but NOT turkey - I had turkey at work on Friday and we hosted a Friendsgiving last night and there is lots of leftover turkey. At this point I'd rather have pasta or a steak or something.
Hadn't really thought about it, but a good friend who lives in our building is hosting Thanksgiving at her apartment. I'm sure we could crash. Or else there are plenty of restaurants that we could walk to in 10 inches of snow that will be open.
I have not had turkey since last Thanksgiving so I'd really like to have turkey, but I'd imagine it would be impossible to acquire one to cook at this point.
I'm hoping for snow over rain, especially in the city. DH will be working a 30 hour shift outside on Wednesday into Thursday and snow is less annoying for the parade staff to deal with than rain.
I will be cozy in my house and have plenty of wine, so I'm okay.

I'm glad that we are only driving about a half hour to DH's grandparent's house. I'm in the Boston area and they have no clue what's going on with the weather. I really hope its snow because I'm doing a trail turkey trot on Thursday morning and I really don't want it to be rainy and muddy and ruin my shoes.
I'm in E. PA and we're supposed to get this storm also. Right now, 6+" for us. I don't have to go far but I do have to go to work on Wednesday (DD will be coming with me because school is closed), and I hope everything is ok because I will have owned my new car for exactly 12 hours at that point. lol

I feel like I am missing something. The storm is expected to hit Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. I will be traveling Thursday afternoon so I would expect the major/primary and secondary roads to be cleared by then . . . so mostly pretty good. The road I live on is a tertiary road and when there is no school it gets plowed at about 4p. But it's half a mile to a higher priority road so I feel like if I go really, really slow and enough other people have gone down the road, it's usually not a big deal. I probably should try to start my snow thrower though.
I'm mainly concerned because I have no idea what time they want us to be there, and what we need to bring ... I've heard everything between "Just bring a simple app/dessert" and "It's a potluck meal so bring a substantial side."
