That would also drive me nuts, which is why I fold and put away DD's clothes. H has no idea what goes with what, but I fold them together and put them in her drawers so he can just pull out an outfit if he dresses her.
This, plus I put a rubber band around all pieces of the outfit so it stays together. DH would pull out 2 pieces of a 3 piece outfit, thinking it was complete as just a plain onesie and pants, when there was a patterned cardigan meant to go over it.
Your nanny is older, right? I swear this is a grandparent thing. All of the kids I see out during the day with retirement age people look like rainbow bright and Jack Black collaborated on their style.
I never kept clothes together as outfits; pants went in one drawer, shirts in another, etc. However neither H nor the nanny can put the right girl's stuff in the right room. They wear 2 different sizes and they mix them up all the time, it drives me bonkers!!

Not unreasonable. I am so go with the flow about most things, but for some reason, clothes organization is my sticking point. You have no idea how much of an exercise in patience and restraint it is to let my 4 year old pick her clothes and get herself dressed sometimes.

Just wait until they start putting their own laundry away and dressing themselves. :-)
For the sake of my sanity, my girls and I have reached an understanding. As long as they leave the house in seasonally and activity appropriate clothing, I don't give them grief about mismatched, clashing, so bad it hurts my eyes to look at it outfits. And as long as their dresser drawers will close properly, what goes on inside of them is none of my concern.
I feel your pain, though. It took me a long time to get over my need for their clothing to look like they didn't sleep in it or get dressed in the dark.

I get you. I have a separate drawer for sets or they are in the closet together. That doesn't mean I don't mix and match other clothes with them, but they are together. It's easier to find that way.

I would do the same thing. I get irrationally annoyed when out of town and H doesn't use the outfits I set aside for the twins. He always posts pics of them and hey look like a hot mess, lol.

I...don't do this. I guess I don't buy sets, either. One drawer for leggings and pants, one for tops, etc, etc. Maybe my kids look like hobos. Who knows.
It has never occurred to me to put outfits together. What if you want to put a pair of pants with a different shirt? Maybe my kids haven't had enough clothes.

Well, don't think that I'm buying anything expensive.
My "sets" are a shirt+vest+pants or shirt+hoodie+pants or dress+cardigan+undershorts for a whopping $7 to $9!
But no thinking goes into this. I just want the clothes to be worn as they were intended. Together. LOL.
However, J1 looks like a bit of a mess sometimes because she started picking out her own outfits two years ago & she DGAF about how I put her laundry away.
