I'm hosting. My favorite part of the meal is dessert. This year it's going to be sugar cream pie, sweet potato pie, Oreo bon bons, German chocolate cheese cake, and rum cake. I cannot wait.
My favorite is my grandmother's dressing & green beans. Then pretty much all of the desserts.
We're going to my MIL's house this year (we alternate) and i'm in charge of desserts. Probably a pumpkin crunch, and a cheesecake-stuffed dark chocolate cake.
We are going to my parents' on Thursday and my H's mom's side of the family on Saturday. My favorite food is cranberry sauce. Gah, I love it so much. We got two pies from the local GF bakery and an expensive (for us) bottle of wine. It's going to be a great day.
I am going to be sorely disappointed if my turkey trot is cancelled due to snow this year :/ Though I can run on the TM I guess, just not as fun!
For the first time in 15 years together, we are doing Thanksgiving with my in laws. There will be 15. I have been asked to bring green beans and will be bringing green beans roasted with garlic and bacon.
I love all the food except for turkey. However, my in laws are a very "bland" family and I fear that gravy will be from a can, stuffing will be stovetop, made with water on the stove top, cranberry sauce from a can, etc. I'm hopeful the mashed potatoes will be made from real potatoes at least.
My family on the other hand takes a week of prepping food from scratch, plus we have a few family specific goodies (venison roast and jewish kugel) that I will really miss.
We eat two meals for every holiday. This year my IL decided we should go out for dinner. So lunch with my family and then dinner out. Not really looking forward to paying for a meal (buffet only) after eating a meal. But I am very lucky to see both families so more exercise on Friday! My favorite is my Mama's stuffing and pies.
We're having it at home with my MIL who is flying in tomorrow (hoping nothing goes wrong with her flight). Should be nice and low key with lots of yummy food. H and MIL will probably do most of the cooking which is fine by me.
I love most Thanksgiving food. I really love the desserts. My husband makes a pretty awesome apple pie so I can't wait to enjoy that with some ice cream.

We are going to a friend's house. Their ILs will be there and we're just crashing the party We have no family local and don't have the time off to travel.

All my favorite things in one day!
Starting off the day with a 5k race. Then I'm really excited about cooking and spending the day with DH and the kids. Almost all major holidays normally involve travel for us, so relaxing at home sounds wonderful.
I want to cook everything, so now it's matter of paring down the list to something reasonable for the 3 (and 1/2) of us. Stuffing/dressing and pumpkin pie are my favorites.
DH and I stay home and host thanksgiving for my Dad and my best friend and her family. DH's family is having a dinner the night before Thanksgiving but I decided to keep my sanity and not participate.
DH and I are running the local 5 mile Turkey trot and then it's home to cook. My favorites are stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes and dessert! I love desserts - we will have pumpki pie, sweet potato cream pie and carrot cake because frosting must make an appearance:)
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
We're going to my mom's (2 hrs south). My cousins are coming from Pheonix, so there will be 16 of us this year. I can't wait to see everyone.
I'm making apple pie, potatoes, an elaborate cheese platter app (I take cheese very seriously lol), and I'm making cranberry thyme syrup ahead of time so that we can do cranberry thyme gin &/or vodka tonics. (I take the booze as seriously as the cheese.)
I could die and go to heaven! Serious cheese and booze, I love it!

We're staying local, as always. I'm running a new Turkey Trot that's 5 mins from home instead of my usual race, then we'll have dinner with J's side of the family at his aunt and uncle's house at 1p. Since that lines up nicely with a certain bitey toddler's naptime, we have an excuse to bust outta there after we eat to go back home so said toddler can nap (and who are we kidding? So can we.) Then we'll have dinner #2 at my parents' house around 6p-it'll be us, my parents, SIL, my BFF, and her two kids (her parents are out of town this year). I can't wait
My favorite Thanksgiving foods are this pudding dish that someone makes at J's aunt and uncle's (butterscotch pudding, bananas, and crushed nuts), and my mom's jello salad (raspberry jello, applesauce, and sprite. I think. I don't ask questions, I just eat it.)

Normally DH and I take this holiday just to be alone/just the 2 of us. But this year, we are going to DH's aunt's home for an extended Thanksgiving celebration.
My favorite TDay food are stuffing and mashed potatoes. Can you tell I love carbs?
I am having a hard time processing Thanksgiving this year, but I think I'm ready to chime in.
Usually we try to go to H's family Thanksgiving day because it's a big deal for his Grandma to host. She's been in poor health for awhile, and we keep thinking it may be her last. I enjoy his family too, and then normally we go to my parent's Friday or Saturday when we can get away.
This year, my mom has been struggling a lot with her mental health, and actually just got home from some extended inpatient treatment today. It's just my immediate family home, but it seems really important to be home on Thanksgiving with my family this year. We're also having some labor challenges at the farm, and I'm really torn on how things will shake out.
On a happier note, I love reading all about everyone's plans and food and travels. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
clseale -- I'm glad to hear you take your cheese (and booze) seriously.

I'm sorry you're having struggles. I hope the treatment was helpful for your mom, and that you enjoy a love filled holiday with your family. (heart)

Oh no Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope today can give you a little time out to relax and refresh. You're normally everyone's cheerleader, but remember we're here to support you too. Big hugs my friend.

I'm sorry to hear about your family's health issues. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving despite all of that.
Thank you all so much ladies. I was feeling pretty low when I wrote that, but it needed to get out and slipped in somewhere. We made it to my parent's, and it really was a good day. We still got to spend a few hours with H's family in the evening, the farm kept chugging along, and we made it through. It helps to have support here too.

Hugs thom! My mom has Parkinson's and depression so if you ever want to talk, I am here. Having a loved one with mental health issues is really challenging . We are here for you!
My sister hosted our small Thanksgiving, ten of us total. I don't like turkey really so my favorites were the Brussel sprouts, wine and cheese plate.
