I have 2 hours 14 minutes until I am off work until 8 days. I have done all the work I can do including random and unnecessary cleaning. This place is a ghost town today.
HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH! I'll try to think of something flameful but I suck at this game.
We flipped DD to FF for the ease of getting her in/out of the car seat with her cast.
I feel horribly guilty about this, and don't want to post cute pics of her because I'm afraid people will judge me.
She's over two, no? I mean I know longer is better but given your circumstances, this is not judge-worthy IMO. How's she doing with the cast?
So... double flameful, I switched C in the little car this weekend after fighting him for 5 minutes to get in his damn seat. It is a tiny car (Tiburon) and he literally goes to/from daycare (5 blocks away) in this car... He is so damn cute making faces at me in the mirror though!
Confession: A sorority sister's husband is a photog on the side and pretty good. She posted on FB they were doing holiday mini's for a steal. And I'm definitely thinking of using them next year since I wasn't too keen on ours this year and they were $$$. I think DH would kill me if I did another shoot between now and Christmas.
But she FF her daughter, who is younger than E (and also has the same name), and I generally side eye a good chunk of her parenting.
Thanks - yep she's 2 years, 2 months. She's only 24lbs though, so I feel like she's so little to FF. We were planning on RF until she wasn't cool with it anymore.
She was having a blast driving around Saturday FFing. It was like a whole new world for her.

Do you give canned vegetables to your LOs?
J loves canned green beans - are canned vegetables considered good for a baby? They're so cheap but a little high in salt. All of the books on baby foods and whatnot recommend fresh, then frozen, and god-forbid if nothing else is available canned.

You forgot pouches, the #2 acceptable way to give kids veggies.

Only in a pinch and I try to go for low sodium versions. I usually buy the cheap frozen ones instead of the steam in bag ones. I personally was raised almost exclusively on canned vegetables and I'd like to think I turned out just fine. Because of this, I think canned peas and corn taste the best.

We've never tried canned veggies but DD's favorite food right now is canned mandarin oranges. I get the organic kind with no added sugar and blah blah blah but still…they are like candy. And she will eat the whole damn can.

Confession and maybe flameful. My grandma was in the hospital this weekend and my aunt asked me to let people know. I tried a few methods to get my sister but never actually talked to her until she finally fb messaged me the next night. The message was like I didn't call you back but I did contact my friends and ask them to pray for her and now she's out, so I'm glad I did!
I am beyond pissed. I feel like she was a total dick calling others instead of me, and also that she is taking credit for her getting out. I am atheist and while I'm not opposed to having her pray it pisses me off that she thinks she was right.
I straight up called my grandma yesterday and asked her if i could have her AG Samantha doll. I don't want her to give it to one of my cousins, I want to add it to my collection.
I'm pretty sure I pissed her off by calling and asking for it. Whatever, I don't care.

Don't take this the wrong way but I am LOLing the canned veggies after you saying you were called Martha.
But to answer you no we don't use them. I think they're gross (and yes, the salt content). DS1 is obsessed with roasted or blanched green beans - eats like 1/2 lb. on his own. My MIL tried to give him canned beans a couple weekends ago and it did NOT go well. lol
Frozen is usually cheaper than canned, at least from what I've seen.
ETA: I obviously don't care if other people give them to their kid. I just hate them, as does DH, so we don't buy them and therefore, our kids do not get them by way of us never having them around.
I know! I made roasted brussel sprouts w/lemon & pine nuts but J wouldn't touch them. I opened a can of green beans out of desperation and he ate like 3/4 of the can!!
Some of the questions and vents posted on here on the daily make me wonder how people are functional members of society.
It makes my type-A self feel breezy in comparison. No, no one is going to get food poisoning from perishables sitting out for 2 hours, unless your perishables include sushi-grade fish. No, canned vegetables are not bad. No one is going to die if you don't have 29.385723% of your income saved for each child's college.
is this where I put my Thanksgiving hate? (Sorry I have nothing better than thinking my kid is boring and wondering why people get excited over Thanksgiving food).
Turkey is not exciting. It's like chicken's bigger cousin. And the cluster that is sweet potatoes with marshmallows and sugar and all that other stuff, no I can't.
Not to mention that cranberry jelly nonsense that retains the shape of the can!

Haha. That's what I told my SIL yesterday when she told me she had never made a turkey. It's just a big chicken!!
Sweet potatoes with marshmallows is what my sister and I call diabetes casserole. My parents make it every year. It's disgusting.

Yes, I rinse them and try to use the low-sodium, but he eats them at least 3x a week.
