I have a HM on Thursday. Looks like it will be 35-36 degrees at the start, partly cloudy with just a little wind. I haven't run this race in years, so I am confused about what to wear. What should I wear?
Thin tights or capri's, a short sleeve tee, and some kind of removable sleeves, whether it's a throwaway shirt, arm warmers, or a shirt that you take off and tie around your waist if you get hot.
The race I ran this weekend was about 38 at the start, light wind, and almost 50 by the time I ended. I wore shorts, a tech t-shirt, and throwaway ON lounge pants and a thin cotton hoodie. I also wore a running hat (baseball cap style) and dollar store stretchy gloves. I tossed the throwaways while waiting in my corral (close bodies = warmth) and tossed the gloves around mile 3 (wish I had waited another mile or two). But I felt perfectly dressed and was comfortable the entire time.
What does the temp get up to? If it stays in the 30s and low 40s, capris + SS top, gloves that you can toss or tuck in your waistband, and maybe armwarmers. If it is going to get up closer to 50, I would go for shorts + thin LS top + gloves.
I am naturally cold natured. So if it were below 50, I'd stick with a LS shirt or SS w/arm warmers, capris and maybe thin gloves. My hands get cold easily.
Similar to others. My half started out in the 30s, I had on regular thin capris, tank top and a pair to throw away gloves that came off quickly. Good luck!
Thanks ladies. I don't think it's going to warm up too much, so I am thinking capris and thin long sleeve tech shirt. I don't have arm warmers, but they are in my Christmas List.

Did you have Baby Legs for your kids? They work in a pinch

Love that idea! I'll check to see if I still have any.
