I'm pissed that there isn't something more my doctor can do right now. I am already on some meds but they aren't doing much. I know we are waiting for test results, but I'm tired of feeling shitty.
Gross back story - I got some digestive bug on November 1. I have had daily diarrhea since, including so far today at 3am, 5:05, and 6:20...and 9:40... Yet I haven't missed a day of work.
On the bright side, I'm fitting back into things that were too small.
GBCN pet peeve: I really wish people would put updates in the replies instead of (or maybe in addition to) the OP. I loooove updates, I always want to know the rest of the story, but I prefer to just press the "new" button instead of having to go back. (yes, I think about this way too much, and am perhaps lazier than I realize)
I am lazy enough that I'd like there to be an update in the OP so I don't have to scroll to find it (particularly if there is then lots of post-update discussion). But I'd also like it to be in replies, so the thread comes up as new. And with "Update" in the title so I know to read it again and that it isn't just a random bump.
I guess my flameful is that I like the blanket scarf.
Also, and in sure this is really flammable on this board but i just say Happy Christmas to everyone. My Muslim clients always wish me happy Eid and I don't get offended so why can't it work the other way? Granted I come from the UK where no one says Happy Holidays. What's offensive about someone wishing you a happy .... Diwali, hannukah, Christmas, Eid.. Whatever they celebrate? I'm also not sure that Canadians get up in arms about it either... @vicmo?
This comment aligns well with the first part of your sn.
I am American and Jewish and prefer happy holidays. I don't get up in arms when someone says Merry Christmas, but will sometimes judge a little when I am someplace that shouldn't have a religious angle.
I don't get it...because it's cold (like, unfeeling) to just say Merry Christmas? I'm probably missing something obvious.
Either way, I'd say the UK is different and generally not as PC as the US. In general I think Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/Happy Hannukah/Etc are really shorthand for "enjoy time with family, friends, food and presents" rather than any kind of religious angle, but in the US we're all more sensitive about ruffling feathers with stuff like that, so it is more expected that we should use Happy Holidays.
I would totally side-eye someone who wished me a Merry Christmas right now. Not because I don't celebrate Christmas, but because it's November!!! Wishing someone a Merry Christmas is appropriate for, like, 2 weeks before Christmas.

Ugh. I'm sorry. I assume they have tried a round of antibiotics?
I am also having issues and it sucks. I have a colonoscopy tomorrow. I'm nervous.

Unless you're my mother-in-law, in which case you're offended by anything other than "Merry Christmas." But in this scenario, you also have a "Keep Christ in Christmas" sign on the front lawn and protest your 35% Jewish town not putting enough Christmas decorations out at town hall.

Personally, I am offended by all things Christmas that exist at all times, except between the first Sunday in Advent and the Epiphany.
Alas, I have been unable to impose my adherence to the liturgical calendar on the rest of the country. But some day, when I am queen and tacos are the national food...
I unfriended three FB friends last night over their posts on the Michael Brown decision, and I just unfollowed a relative this morning over an article that says "I'm against feminism because I want my son to hold doors open for women." Which was preceded by an article lamenting how Alyssa Milano got shamed for her breast feeding pics.

No antibiotics, prescription anti diarrhea meds, probiotics, a bunch of vitamins...
I had a colonoscopy last year when I got a H. Pylori infection from a hospital stay. The actual test is no big deal, the prep was the hard part. You'll do fine. There's nothing to worry about. Hugs.
As part of insurance, they want us to do a wellness exam, which involves a blood draw. I also have to have a fasting one that my doctor ordered so I figured I'd do it at the same time. Logic, right?
Wrong. They won't do the employee one before 1 pm even if I'm already there with a needle in my arm! I called a different location and they will do it,but I'm already at work, without coffee for the day and hungry, and all for nothing.

Thanks. I hope they figure out what is wrong with you soon!!
I feel like a really bad person for thinking about this, but I get annoyed when elderly relatives give me knicknacks / tchotchkes / holiday decor for gift occassions. Most of the time it's not my style and I don't have room for it, and it goes into the attic. I can't get rid of it because the gift giver is up there in years, and for all I know they could be gone soon. None of this stuff has sentimental value beyond the fact that the giver might be gone soon, though. It's all cheap stuff that came from someplace like Kmart or Sears, and I really wish that the giver would have saved her money.
Could you save one favorite thing from each person, and donate the rest?

It isn't cold to say it, just has a religious angle compared to happy holidays.

But what does that have to do with the word iced? (or ice, not sure where you're breaking up her sn) That we're talking about winter holidays?

Amen. (Except, perhaps, to the tacos part - I'd prefer lasagna. My flameful!!!!)
But seriously, you want to keep Christ in Christmas? Don't start busting out the merchandise and the songs and the decorations and the Kay diamond commercials in mid-November. And don't support them. Wait until the appropriate time and the message will be so much stronger.
I will say, though, I don't have a problem with Merry Christmas most of the time (and I think my Jewish husband would agree). If you know someone does not celebrate Christmas, then it's just flat out offensive to wish them a Merry Christmas. Say Happy Holidays - how hard is that? But if you don't know and that's your standard greeting and you do celebrate...I really can't get too worked up about that.
I really need to stop checking work email when I'm away. It took me longer than expected to complete something for a client and I sent out a draft before I left for vacation. It was follow up work to a prior project to clean something up in order to release an escrow. Client now thinks the entire escrow should be released and shouldn't be charged for the work necessary to release the escrow. Complete with playing dumb that the work was previously requested, process was fully explained, and then emailed my boss about it to throw me under the bus. I replied before I left, which sent client into a further tailspin of rage complete with client telling me I'm lying also copied to my boss. I haven't responded since and client is now forwarding a prior email to my boss so "he knows what's going on". I hate when this shit happens and I'm out of the office. I know at the end of the day it's not the end of the world, but it's rather upsetting.
Confession-- I love Delilah. I listen to her every night on my way home from work. I cry at least 3 times a week at the sob stories that people call with (even though I very rarely actually like her advice). I am such a dork.

I agree 100% and say Merry Christmas. If I offend anyone, oh well ... not very Canadian of me but I'm sick of people telling me I'm not being politically correct. I also don't mind someone wishing me Happy Chanukah, Happy Diwali, or whatever they celebrate but I'm an old so saying Merry Christmas is ingrained in me

See, is much rather see it in the OP. I can't stand lookkng for replies in the post, especially if it's a really long one.

My flameworthy is I really am not a fan of Thanksgiving but I love Christmas. I feel like everyone is so against all things Christmas until we sit around and eat too much at one meal that it shortens my Christmas season.
Confession: I finally hit 130 lbs. I think I've mentioned before how it is bittersweet.
My clothes are now getting too tight, my thighs are rubbing together (for the first time in my life), and I have back fat.
I look healthy and overall went from a 0/xs to a 2/4/s. It's just a weird feeling and I'm not accustomed to seeing this much wiggleness + cellulite on my body. It's strange and I'm hoping I can turn some of this flab into muscle.
I have a random, but it's not out of place, because posting a random in a flameful/unpopular/confessons post is totally flameful so my ass is covered:
I changed web browsers from Firefox to Chrome because Firefox doesn't work on my new work laptop and I don't like Chrome at all.
I felt much the same when Netscape died.
How is it that firefox doesn't work?!? Are you running some funny version of windows with security patches, or your company's virus scanner/other security software doesn't recognize it as a safe program?
I use FF for work still because the Awesome Bar is amazing. I never have to remember anything.
My only on MM UO is that cable TV is actually good value for the money, especially with a DVR.

@crackhabit -- what about Safari? It's the browser that works best on my Mac (I have Mavericks or whatever it was called, which I think is the same OS as you?)
I was approached about a job months ago. FTR, I currently have a job that pays well and I don't want to stab my eyes out on a daily basis. This process is getting long and annoying and is making me doubt myself. I know they aren't interviewing anyone else (at least currently). I know the hiring manager wants to hire me.
But the hoops! OMG, the hoops! I want to cry.
My job search has not only made me doubt myself -- it has made me feel like an all-out unmarketable loser.
