Our department at work adopts a few families around the holidays. Then we draw to see what wishlist items/family members each individual person gets. I'm excited as I got "shoes and socks" for two girls (6 and 10 years old.)
With no further direction than "shoes and socks" what direction would you go? I'm assuming sneakers are probably the best bet. We don't have a price limit, so I'd like to buy something nice (or maybe 2 somethings.) $60-70 per girl seems like a decent budget, right?
**off to search online because this seems way more fun than working right now
PS - Has anyone seen any good black friday deals on kids shoes?
Yeah, I'd probably go with a pair of boots and a pair of sneakers. You could do BOGO 1/2 off at famous footwear for sneakers, and check costco for boots. Mine has some really cute rain boots for $15, fake uggs for $20, and snow boots for $20.
With that budget, I would get two pairs of shoes per kid. Probably one pair of sneakers and one pair of boots. I like the ones orval posted. And I would get different shoes for each girl - the 10 year old probably won't want to match her little sister.
I don't buy kids' shoes, but $20 winter boots don't seem like they'd hold up very well (depending on where you live - if it snows very infrequently, then maybe). I think $50 will get you a really good pair of shoes/sneakers. I think getting a quality pair of shoes is better than getting multiple pairs of cheap knock-offs, you know? A good pair of sneakers will probably last until they grow out of them next year.
I think this is perfect. They will need sneakers for sure, and then they'll probably love something cute. Lots of cute socks out there too! Last year I got my angel two pairs of shoes from 6pm.com for a good price.
If you're a Costco member or know one who would order for you, my six year old DD has these boots and loves them. They're a few dollars more than the Kohl's ones but they are real shearling.
Kohls has some great black friday deals that are already live on the website for kids shoes and $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent, free shipping on orders over $50 and 6% back on ebates. MM!!!
Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! Some online research showed Famous Footwear is having BOGO 1/2 off + 15% off + free shipping on cyber Monday, so I think I'll hold out a bit on the sneakers.
