Andplusalso, DW isn't a pushover, size wise. He's 6'4" and 250 lbs. And, dude, he's older, has had police training, etc. He should have tried to de-escalate the situation before drawing his weapon.
Yea...he should have you used those super secret ninja skills he learned at cop college to overtake him from inside the car. Give me a break.
You know what police are trained for? Do not let the criminal gain control of your weapon. Shoot to kill (why he was shot 6 times instead of once). Come home to your family at the end of the day.
So wait are cops highly skilled a highly trained professionals, or not?
Guess what, law enforcement is rightfully held to a higher standard.
KC for Gods sake read and find out what the hell you are talking about.
Links to disprove that the autopsy didn't support Wilson's testimony? I'm open to reading and amending my opinion.
This is where I'm at. No one can show me anything. I spent 10 mins googling yesterday and I couldn't find anything that said DW sold his story for money. The article linked yesterday about holes in the prosecution was obviously biased. Please, show me the information.

DW said he felt like a 5 year old getting beat up my hulk. Wtf?!? They are roughly the same size. No special ninja skills needed. Of course making it sound like MB had some special black extra strength made his story sound better.
And that is my major issue with all of this. No one has bothered to call him out on his blanat lies. There are several things he said that don't make sense and he wasn't even cross examined.
I hate to embarrassingly admit I've been in a fist fight before but I won by a landslide against a much larger opponent. Size doesn't mean strength. I wouldn't assume all cops are super strong and amazing fighters. I think someone in your car makes many self defense strategies challenging and by the damage on DW face/ neck he probably packed a pretty powerful punch. That doesn't sound too far fetched. What kinds of things are you referencing that didn't make sense?

How about an article that outlines the unusual way the investigation and evidence were handled immediately after the shooting. There are plenty of inconsistencies, including the official medical examiner's report. No measurements taken because it was "clear that a shooting had happened" and therefore not needed? Forgive me for being skeptical when the FPD and other local government agencies have been so lackadaisical in their treatment of this case from the start.
I'm late to the convo (damn phone update doesn't like GBCN). Anyway, I 100% agree with everything Amy and AG have said here. As for the rioting, I can't imagine the pain, anger, fear, feelings of injustice the people of Ferguson are experiencing. I mean, I don't have the ability to comprehend it, not in my bubble. It is easy for me to say the rioting shouldn't be happening, but I've never felt any emotions even close to what that community is dealing with. I try to put myself in their shoes, maybe feeling desperate and that there is no other way to be heard but to lash out. It's horrible, but I feel for the people that believe that is their best recourse. I'm also sad for those losing livelihoods because of it. I'm honestly just sad for the whole thing. Except for DW.
Wasn't DW in the car? Couldn't he have, I don't know...driven away?
As much as I hate to point this out, I doubt a cop would drive away from a confrontation. He definitely should have tried something less lethal than shooting, but I don't know if cops should be in the business of literally running away from a suspect.
Where was his partner, back up? Is it common for cops to patrol alone? Serious question. The times I have encountered cops there is always more than one. Usually more than one squad car even. They get back up pretty quickly from what I've seen.
Yeah that's true. I'm just thinking he could've pulled ahead, rolled the window up and called for backup.
Around here it's just as common to see a single patrol officer as it is a pair.
Maybe I just don't have knowledge of police tactics but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around a cop who is being punched, strangled and has someone grabbing for his gun should do anything other than shoot. Maybe there was something he could have said differently to de-escalate someone who just committed a crime and was trying to avoid cops but I still can't say this makes DW a murderer and MB an innocent victim.

It's almost as if that is why there should be a trial
Oh Amy, I miss my Philly girl :wink wink: You know who I am, I'LL PM you. God, I feel like I need to yell this shit because 'some' people don't understand is YOU ARE MISSING THE FUCKING POINT THAT THIS INCIDENT SHOULD NOT HAVE EVEN HAPPENED. THE FUCKING KID WAS CROSSING THE STREET, CROSSING THE STREET, FOR FUCKS SAKE. I am sure Wilson has stopped every white kid crossing the street illegally, right? He initiated a bullshit 'stop' of this kid. He, and I am sure clearly many blacks in Ferguson, have had this occur all.the.fucking.time. and are sick of it. I am very fortunate to say as a white girl raised in Philly, I have been stopped, umm....zero...for jaywalking but I sure as shit witnessed many of my friends who were gasp black in my neighbor getting 'stopped, frisked, basically fucking harassed daily.' Again I yell, THIS IS THE OVERLOOKED POINT THAT NO ONE GETS. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NO INTERACTION BETWEEN THIS KID AND THAT COP, THAT IS IT. Witnessing shit I did growing up, I can almost assure that the sweet ole hick cop wasn't like, " hey, can you do me a favor and cross in the crosswalks, it is a blind spot around here and don't want you to get hit by a car. Ok, have a good nice boys!'
Regardless, I still have faith in the prosecutor that they will still pursue Wilson and file charges. The grand jury is not the end of this, I hope. Sorry for coming in here full on blazing but week after week is just bloodshed. Now with the 12 year old gunned down I give up on humanity at this point.

He had just stolen stuff from a store and harassed the store owner. Wilson was responding to a call of a infant that wasn't breathing at a complex near by- he heard on the radio of the robbery and saw a kid that matched his description. That's why there was interaction between the 2.
Why didn't MB just move to the sidewalk? Why did he reach for DW's gun? Why didn't DW call for backup as soon as he saw MB?

There are so many unanswered questions.
No that was not the original story that was the story Wilson changed to after many days of coaching. He is on record as saying he did NOT know Brown was a robbery suspect initially.
