Oh boy, I was that mom at playland today. I dropped DD off, and as the attendant was fastening her bracelet she recoiled slightly and exclaimed, "Is that a rash??!!" Nope, eczema. She has been scratching at it, so it's all red and bumpy. Not a rash, though. And then DD was so excited, she had been jumping up and down and swallowed some spit. She choked on it a little and started coughing like a heavy smoker. More looks from the attendant. And I could feel the judgy mom stares as I walked away leaving my rashy, hacking kiddo behind. I wish I could have found a way to rig up a goopy eye somehow...that would have really completed the picture.
They have a drop off play center. Kids have to be PT'd and between 37" and 54". It's amazing
And free coffee in the restaurant, with free lunch for kids after 11 on Tuesdays. Plus, also, all the lovely shopping that is Ikea. Forget Disney - happiest place on earth, hands down.
I really wish they wouldn't require potty trained. DS1 would love to play there but he's not potty trained. Plus I never understand how it makes a difference. If my kid poops in a diaper I have to come back to change it. IF my kid poops in his pants because he's having too much fun playing I have to come back and change him.
The height requirement irritated me. DD just reached 37" around her 4th birthday, but she's been potty trained since 2 1/2. That's a year and a half of ikea playland we missed out on because she has short genes. Lame.
