He did it! My H graduated yesterday!
I'm so very proud of him. Not only was he selected as valedictorian, he also received the one and only award at graduation for the cadet who most embodies the traits of a successful RCMP officer (or something like that!) which was voted on by his peers and instructors. Many of his colleagues spoke to me about how he was such a supportive member of the group and how much they relied on his leadership. I always knew he was awesome but it's cool to hear it from others as well.
It's bittersweet though since L and I are now at home and H is currently on a plane to Ottawa for his first assignment. We've survived 6 months without him but now need to get through two more. Believe it or not, we still have no new info about this assignment so we still don't know if L and I can come stay with him or what his shifts will be like.
The movers will be here to pack us up tomorrow morning but they don't know our unpack date yet as it can be anytime between the 29th-3rd so L and I get one night at home and then back to a hotel for awhile. Tonight I need to unpack from the trip, do laundry, and repack everything we'll need for the next week or so. It's going to be another crazy few days but I'm looking forward to getting settled in our new place.
Yay congrats to your H!. I know becoming a Mountie is not easy.
You're still moving here, yes?
Hopefully, at least for a short time. H has orientation tomorrow so we should have more info soon. He's in the air right now and still doesn't know where he's staying when he arrives.
