Seriously.. this kid sleeps ALL the time. Example- 600 woke up drank about 2 oz passed back out by 620 and will probably be out til 8 or 9. Is this normal?
Strip him down to his diaper, tickle his feet, blow on his face, gentle arm movements to keep him awake. My last resort is a wet washcloth or baby wipe to the back.
It is so normal for newborns to be sleepy in the first few weeks. They sleep about 18 hours a day.
That being said, the pedis I work with say that they don't worry unless the baby skips two feedings in a row. One small feeding is nothing to worry about, but if you have two consecutive feedings where you absolutely cannot wake him, that's when you want to call your doc or nurse line.
I can't remember if you are giving formula or pumping and giving EBM, but formula takes longer to digest than breast milk does. When I have formula babies, I typically feed them every 3-4 hours. So a baby eating at 6, I would expect to wake up and eat again no earlier than 9, probably closer to 10. Breast milk babies, every 2-3 hours. So from this thread, you fed at 6, a very good sized feeding, then again at 7ish. I feel that may have been a little early, unless he woke up and started showing hunger cues. Even so, I wouldn't expect him to eat as much after only an hour, hour and a half.

I tried at 8... that was too early. I Am bottle feeding. He finally ate 2 oz at 930-10. Guess that is more normal.
We are keeping track of bottles and diapers. He has ate 8 times and has has 9 wet diapers at 3 stools. Im being a worry wart I guess. ...
