yes! It's the same way I feel when I wear a red shirt and khakis to target.
I've done this. I used to work at Target's corporate offices, red and khaki was the only way out of the professional dress code. Most people did that when they wanted to be lazy. I stopped at a Target store on my way home from work once and some lady started yelling at me about toilet paper that should be on sale...it was awkward.
I just did this this morning at J Crew and almost turned right around and went home when I realized it. It was a coat, so it's not like I could even cover it up. Then a skirt I wanted was right next to the stupid thing, so I had to stand right there pawing through the rack to get my size

Yeah, I don't get this and I am pretty awkward about EVERYTHING. But I work in retail and don't think twice when I see someone wearing something we sell. In my mind a make a mental note that that person rocks, actually.
Yes. I worry that they'll think I stole what I'm wearing. I always want to double check to make sure there are cameras aimed at the entrance so I can be like "check the tapes, I wore it on the way in!"
Me, too! This happened to me at Old Navy recently. I bought a scarf at one ON, ended up loving it and went to another ON to get it i other colors. I went to pay for the three new scarves and the salesgirl was like "and that one?" Referring to the one around my neck. I don't think she believed that I'd already bought it.
