We were going to Riviera Maya to a fabulous new resort. Then a hurricane came in the day before we left. I was on the phone the day of the wedding for 5 hours trying to book a different resort somewhere else in Mexico. We ended up in Puerto Vallarta at a resort with a much older crowd. It was still fun!
We went to Anguilla, BWI and stayed at Cap Juluca. It is the most amazing place on Earth. If I ever won the lottery I would just move there. H and I would love to go back in the next 2 years and we would love to take the kids at least once.
Everyone was so happy there. It was very private and secluded. The entire back side of our house opened to the beach with a view of St, Martin. Most of the time I was the only person on the beach or in the water. So incredibly spectacular.
We went to the Cook Islands, 1 week in Rarotonga and 1 week in Aitutaki. It was glorious. We decided while there that we would go back for our 10th Anniversary, and are still hoping to do so. One of my favorite days was a day on Aitutaki when a bad storm rolled in. We later discovered it was a tropical storm, but the islanders didn't want to scare us, ha! Aitutaki is tiny tiny tiny and because of the storm they were running low on supplies. We spent the day tucked into the bar/dining room (an open hut with clear side tarp walls) playing chess* while drinking vodka. *Neither one of us knows how to play chess. On the way back to our hut on the water we found two hermit crabs and took them to our porch for races. It was sunny when we woke up, lol.
oops, I thought I had pictures here. here are the hotel's pics in Aitutaki (that's our hut): here is our Villa and the view in Raro, it was always this empty:
We went to Riviera Maya. We stayed in the exclusive area of a large resort, which was nice, since it was smaller. We had a nice time, except that I was getting over being sick on our wedding night. I didn't enjoy the AI cocktails as much as I would have liked!

We just drove to Wilmington, nc. We chose there because that's where they filmed One Tree Hill. So we spent a lot of time driving to film spots. It was off season, so it's not like we were trying to be extras, but it was still fun to see everything and be there.
Here is just a random picture while at the beach.
And here is a funny one. The little info packet from the condom box apparently fell onto the floor. So when room service cleaned the room she neatly displayed it on the nightstand. And also moved my lotion right next to it. We were laughing so hard about it.

We went to the Aventura Spa Palace resort in Rivera Maya Mexico, it was fabulous. These are just stock pics from online. Every room has a tub in it. We filled it up one night, but it was too hot. DH kept putting buckets of ice in it. It was still too hot, I felt sick, so not the sexy honeymoon experience we were going for .
We went to Italy - started in Venice and then did Florence and Rome with some day trips off of those cities. It was lovely and we would definitely go back. No pics - this was the way back days of pre digital cameras lol
We went to Scotland - all over. We started in Edinburgh, then to Perth then Glasgow, then up to Inverness, then all over Speyside, down to St Andrews and back to Edinburgh.
It was gorgeous. Just such a beautiful country. And up by the distilleries the air smells like whisky. Apparently between the air and the leftover mash they feed the cows from the distilling process, the cows up there are always slightly drunk and that's why they always sit down, lol

This is my H's dream trip. (Except that it would also involve stops at several distilleries.)
We stopped at a bunch of distilleries! H doesn't drink so he was my designated driver, lol

We didn't have one. We did go to Acadia national park for our one year anniversary and that was very nice. My H had somehow managed to live here all his life and had never been.

My dad loves Acadia. He and my brother used to go camping there every year.

We went to a Sandals on St Lucia, it was unbelievably beautiful. The weather was perfect, we went in January. We have very few pics sadly. We went on a rather hysterical horseback ride where I was given a noble steed named Bob who I suspect may have been brought out of retirement for the occasion. My H about lost it listening to our tour guide yell at him in his thick accent: "move your candy ass Bob!" We still say that to each other if one of us is particularly sluggish haha.

We went to Cabo San Lucas, and stayed at the Dreams resort. I love Cabo because you're not confined to your resort...you can actually go off the property and sightsee, shop, and eat. I also loved the little town of San Jose del Cabo...so quaint. It was my second time there, so we probably wouldn't go back because we'd rather travel to other countries. However, we'd definitly stay at another Dreams resort.
A definite favorite of our trip was ATVing. It was my first time, and we had an absolute blast!!

We ended up at the Oregon Coast... We live in Oregon. We were supposed to go to Kauai, but our plans were for 6 months after our wedding, so we'd be going in the off season, and I got pregnant a month before our wedding. whomp whomp. It was still fun, we took our dogs.
Omg, thedahliharpa you meeting a prophet (lol) reminded me that we went on a cross island hike with this guy! He is an "herbalist and traditional healer". His name is Pa. Lolol!:

You can let your mom know that mini-Rjamz'-bro has camped there every year too
We went to Puerto Rico for a week. Stayed in Isla verde and traveled most of the island by car. I hadn't been there so I we did touristy things mostly - rainforest, caves, beaches, San Juan, Ponce. And we ate lots and lots of good local food. I would go back and definitely take Lillian. H has family there.
We had a great time. We did get lost in the mountains and I was trying to use the phone GPS which was probably the dumbest useless idea lol. It was very confused. We also traveled a couple hours to go to a museum that was closed due to renovations, waste of time. Pics are not on my iPad.

Excellence Rivera Maya. All inclusive just outside Cancun. It was awesome. The only downside was it set the bar rather high for AI's for me since then and nothing has compared.
We got married at the tail end of spring break in grad school, so we just spent a few days in D.C. Actually, we ended up only spending one day at the Smithsonian, and the other day we....stayed in.
No pictures; a funny story, though is that Dh almost lost his wedding ring in an exhibit. He wasn't used to wearing any kind of jewelry, so kept playing with it. For two days, I'd been telling him he was going to lose it somewhere, and lo and behold, just when we were standing at an exhibit that was kind of sunken several feet, he dropped it and it almost bounced down.
