I'm only responsible for 2 dishes. I just finished baking the cornbread for stuffing. I still have to cut it up and dry it out. Then I'm doing the rest tomorrow. Potluck with friends FTW.
I'm cooking pumpkin pie, apple crisp, and cranberry sauce this afternoon. This evening I'll set out all the stuff I'll need to make the turkey, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, and crockpot stuffing. We are eating dinner late (5:30), so I don't have to do too much tonight.

I am SO happy with my stuffing, I read a few recipes and sort of combined them.
I'm doing the same. I have no idea how it will turn out but how can it go wrong?! It's cornbread.
We made cookies, because it's snowing and that's what we do in snowstorms.
I'm always in charge of mashed potatoes for thanksgiving, because I have this killer recipe that you can make ahead and then heat either in a crockpot or the oven o the day-of.
Except that about 5 years ago I messed up the recipe and ended up running out to the store and just using the premade bob Evans ones. Everyone still raved about them, no one noticed they weren't homemade. So I've been passing off bob Evans as my own ever since. Keeps the kitchen much cleaner.
I am starting when I get home. I have to make the following before I go to bed tonight. Brine - crap, I have to remember to get a bag of ice on my way home. Orange Ginger cranberry sauce Cheesecake Split pea soup
Two apple pies in the oven, crust for the chocolate pie is done, and I'm about to cook the sausage for the stuffing. I also need to bake the bread cubes for said stuffing.
In-laws should be here in the next 45 minutes for the whole weekend. I suppose I should get off the computer and finish vacuuming.

Can you share your crisp recipe? I think I'm going to make one today but I wasn't crazy about the last recipe I made.
I am cooking mashed potatoes later tonight, but that's it. I delayed driving home to MA until tomorrow because of the weather.
I agree--it is SO not glamorous and all coordinated like on the cooking shows! LOL!
How do you do those in advance? I want to but have never done it before.
It's funny you should ask....because I posted here a few days ago asking that question. I am not a huge cook so I wasn't sure. Most of what I cook is crock pot dishes.
I decided to go with the Pioneer Woman's mashed potato recipe, which involves mashing everything up and then putting it into a baking dish and putting it into the oven for a bit.
I am going to do the mashing up and put it in the baking dish tonight, then tomorrow drive a couple hours up to my parents and pop it into the oven when I get there. Hopefully it will work out. My mother said if I cover the potatoes with a damp towel tonight to prevent browning she thought it would be fine.

We're not hosting this year, but my cousin asked me to make the pies. I made a pumpkin pie yesterday, the pecan pie is currently in the oven, and I'm thinking about making a caramel apple pie, too. But my son is napping and my husband is at the gym, so I can't get to the store for the ingredients for awhile. And apparently I'm a glutton for punishment since I am even considering going to the grocery store the day before Thanksgiving. lol
I'm about to start on my sweet potato casserole and shred two pounds of cheese for Grandma Nugget's mac and cheese.
I knew you were cooking:) I had a shredding mishap, I tried to do it in the mini-processor and it just wouldn't work. Thankfully H came home just in time to save the day!
I'm going to HAND SHRED that shit. lol. OMG. My poor wrists.

I don't really have one? I cut up about 6 apples, and then just kind of eyeball oats (1/4 to 1/3 cup maybe) a little flour, brown sugar (1/4 cup and an equal amount of white sugar) cinnamon and butter (2/3 stick). I crumble the topping with my fingers and sprinkle over the apples. 375 for 40 mins or so.
This is not helpful; I'm sorry.
ETA: Peeling and coring apples is a huge pain in the ass. Now I remember why I rarely make apple desserts.

I've only done the green bean casserole stuff - which will be interesting as I accidentally grabbed a broccoli cheese soup instead of a second can of cream of celery (mushroom allergies to deal with) I figured it out after I had it in the bowl because it was a very strange color. DH says no one will notice.
I made sticky toffee pudding and caramel sauce - I have to restrain myself from eating before tomorrow. So many calories, it is fewer than normal as my sister failed to get my double cream this year.
Still to do tonight - finish bread. I got to skip out on half of it this year because my uncle mailed me some Swedish rye, so I only have to make Irish Soda bread tonight.
Everything else will go in tomorrow. DH will deal with the mashed potatoes. Turkey everything is prepped, just need to put it together and put it in the oven. Stuffing is easy to do while its in. Carrots take 30 mins. People are bringing everything else.

Today I cleaned, made mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and stuffing. Feels like more but I think that was it. And shopped for some extra stuff.
But I had an early hair appt this am and they put my hair up in these twists. So after cooking I took it down, put on clean clothes and voila! I look like a sex bomb for H, whom I haven't seen in a while since he's been on nights;)

I made cranberry sauce. Tonight I will make pie crusts and pies. DH keeps reminding me that he's going to need the oven most of the day tomorrow for the turkey.
He way outdoes me on Thanksgiving as far as cooking, though. So far today he has made bread dough and stuffing, and put the turkey in brine.

Mom is making most of the food. She is hosting this year. I am just making pumpkin and blackberry pies. Also making a cheese ball, cranberry butter, and veggie tray
I was planning to bake more but the host cut my contribution, ha. I did a dozen slutty brownies and a double pan of pineapple bread. The dishwasher is running and I'm taking a break from wrapping presents.
