I just realized the deadline for ours is next week. Yikes! I need to order stuff this weekend.
Anyway, we have an 8yo girl and a 9yo boy. I have no idea about older kid stuff!
1) They both asked for school clothes and coats. Is Old Navy ok for this, or should I go a little nicer, like Gap Kids? Or other brand suggestions? I'm planning to order everything online.
2) For the little girl, I'm assuming leggings and tunics are the way to go based on the other thread? That's school-appropriate right?
3) Along with their wished-for toys I want to include something like art supplies or a writing journal. Is this cheesy? Would books or board games be better? (And if so...suggestions?)
ON is fine and my 8 year old lives in tunic type shirts and leggings. We are going on year 6 of refusing to wear jeans. She loves arts and crafts, and can never have enough stationary and journals. Sounds like you are doing good!
In the absence of specific brands they asked for, I don't think there's anything wrong with Old Navy, but if you can swing it financially, it would probably make them feel like a million bucks to have some stuff from GapKids or anywhere with a higher price point.
(Just don't get RoseArt Crayons. I am told, by people who would know, that screams "charity case" b/c they're so shitty.)
Maybe b/c we live in a rural area, but DD and her friends seem to have no concept of which brands are more expensive. Except for Justice, they love that crap. They do know RoseArt is crap though
