I came home from work yesterday and there was a package. It's to the correct address but addressed to no one I know. I haven't opened the package but it's from Nordstrom.
I found the person on Facebook and they live in the same town as me but not on my street.
What makes me think it could be a scam or identify theft is I live on a dead end street with < 10 house numbers. It can't fathom how house numbers could be transposed or a non-matching billing address got through.... I highly doubt they lived here prior as our house was an estate sale and the women lived here for like 30 years.........
I wrote to them on Facebook but they haven't responded. I haven't opened the package. Should I open it to get the phone number off the receipt?
Packages are sent to a different address then the one billed. This way whoevers at the billled address doesn't have a package awaiting at their place.
Ive heard of this when it comes to drugs (getting shipped to a random address and getting picked up). I just can't figure out how the address could get mixed up...
