I'm just making pumpkin spice cheesecake, and dressing. I have the cheesecake cooking and am going to chop my onions and celery tonight so I can just stick it all in the crockpot tomorrow morning.
I have made the custard for my ice cream. Dessert is sweet potato ice cream with marshmallow sauce. I'm starting the marshmallow sauce as soon as I get away from the internet.
Also to do tonight - cranberry sauce.
The rest can wait until tomorrow. It's just H and I for dinner this year, so it's not a very complicated meal.

My pumpkin cheesecake is in the oven.
I am leaving early tomorrow to head to my MILs (weather was too bad today to leave). I am making cornbread & sausage stuffing so I have the cornbread and I sauteed the sausage with herbs and onions. I put that in the fridge and reserved the grease. Then tomorrow when I get there I can just assemble it and drizzle the stock over it, and the grease after I heat it up.

Not doing anything tonight. I will be getting up around 7 in the morning to get some stuff done, but I really don't have a whole lot to do. I'm not brining the turkey breast or anything like that. Making scalloped corn (corn casserole), sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, and I am thinking about making some sort of dessert. It's just for DH and our girls though...I don't have to really impress anyone lol.
I am only in charge of three items--cinnamon apples, corn pudding, and roasted brussel sprouts. The apples are done and chilling in the fridge. I will do the other two in the morning. I am clearly getting off easy. I may bake some cookies tonight just to feel like I am cooking something on Thanksgiving Eve .
I've made the mashed potatoes and spinach dip. Everything else will wait until tomorrow. I was thinking of prepping the brussel sprouts but my drink got in the way.
Pumpkin pie and cranberries done. I helped my mom, grandma and aunt prep a cubic butt-ton of dressing (regular, spicy and gluten free) and get turkey brining and that was a nightmare. So disorganized it drove me nuts. I hope we don't get food poisoning from what went on in there. I just tried to do my assignments and keep them in line. And relished the assignment to go get lunch doe 7.

I am going to make the desserts tonight. I still have not decided what I am making. I am currently having a cup of tea and hopefully by the time I finish I will have an idea.
I've already made the whole berry cranberry sauce, herbed stuffing, and chopped the veggies that go in the roasting pan to contribute to the pan gravy. DH made chopped liver pate. I did the "turkey math" as DH calls it. Figured out how long it needs to cook, backtrack to when it needs to go in, factoring in prep time and resting time.
DH cooked the sweet potatoes today. He wanted to do the regular potatoes too, but I nixed that idea because I hate reheated mashed potatoes. Everything else will be done tomorrow since I don't have to make any desserts.
I made my brine earlier and just dropped the turkey into it now.
Also chopped all the veggies for the stuffing, trimmed the green beans and peppers and onions for my green bean salad, and cut the Brussels sprouts. I need to get dough going for rolls in a few minutes and then I am calling it a night. The rest can wait until tomorrow.
Tomorrow is mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes with carmelized apples, baked Brie with preserves, mulled cider, the rest of the salad... Cleaning the house
Brussels Sprouts & carrots are prepped (will be roasted), sweet potato casserole is prepped with the exception of the crumble topping, pie dough is made and chilling, turkey is brining, whipped cream is made.
Still have a lot to do tomorrow...will bake the pumpkin pie first thing in the AM, prep potatoes for scalloped potatoes, peel apples for apple crisp, and make the baked brie appetizer and sweet corn bread pudding (i.e., stuffing)

My sisters hosting but I'm helping - pumpkin pies and cranberry were made Tuesday night and I've got my sweet potato fixins in a bag ready to go for tomorrow. I'm on baby snuggle duty while my sister cooks lol

I haven't started on anything. My husband just called and said to check the turkey because often the turkeys come with feathers here. Thank goodness ours is featherless. I am making all the cream of crap and canned stuff so our British friends can experience a true Midwestern Thanksgiving.
Last night I boiled and de-shelled the eggs for the deviled eggs. I'll get started on those shortly so they will be nice and cold for tonight's dinner. I also made the chocolate pie. This morning is a little more frantic because we have to be at my in-law's by noon for lunch, but are having dinner at home with my parents, too. Turkey breast is in the oven and I've got the first pot for macaroni and cheese started. Need to get the potatoes for mashed potatoes going, too, and figure out when the ham needs to go in the crock pot. I'm ready for late tonight when all of this is done. Thank goodness for the dishwasher!
My sister and her husband aren't coming anymore so now I'm out 2 people and a veggie dish.
Finishing up emails then off to the store. Should be an adventure.
Any ideas on a quick easy veggie dish? Roasted sweet potatoes, mushrooms and greens?
Roasted anything will be easy, but sweet potatoes feel more like a carb side to me than a veggie one. You could chop a mix of veggies, toss with olive oil, salt and pepper (maybe even drizzle with balsamic vinegar) and roast. That would be really easy to do for a decent sized group.
@songforyou, if she did this with kale...the outcome would be kale chips! I think that is the new trendy name for them, I was surprised in bliss thread u hadn't heard of them.
See, tacosforlife they are always the right answer, kale farts be damned.
(PS: I had kale chips yesterday and asked H to keep a nose out for any funny farts.)

Holy shit feathers! That is too exotic for me . I hope u have an awesome time today with your British pals!

Yeah, I had a minor freak out when he said that. He said his co-worker and his wife spent two hours plucking feathers one year. There is no way I'm patient enough for that. It's funny, out of the 6 people coming only one is American. Our Irish friend is the most excited......I think he is the one that coerced me into hosting a Thanksgiving dinner.
You will have to tell us about your dinner. I'm pretty jealous of your wine list to start....I can't imagine what the actual meal will be.

@songforyou
Yeah, I generally hate the canned crap, but I'm doing the entire dinner by myself while wrangling the kids since its not a holiday here. I'm taking all the shortcuts I can get. Plus, our British friends seemed REALLY excited about the sweet potato marshmallow concoction so it all appears to be up their alley. If all else fails, we have over a case of wine for 7 adults.

Since we are doing our dinner tomorrow, I am prepping a lot today. I just finished cooking the sausage for the stuffing and I'm getting ready to prep my savory monkey bread to be popped in the oven tomorrow. Later today I will cut up veggies and soak the brussels sprouts in salt water.
