This is the first year I've done outdoor workouts when it is super cold and I need some warm workout gear. Please rec your cold weather gear, especially pants. Thanks!
We've been in the upper 20s low 30s the past couple of Saturdays. It is outdoor boot camp style. We may be running, doing pushups, ab work on the ground, burpees, bear crawling up hills, etc. We get dirty sometimes and may be on pavement, brick walls, grass, picnic tables, etc. We use our surroundings.
For tops, I love my under Armour Coldgear. If you live near the outlets, I bet they have some on sale for black friday.
I also love Athleta. I love their quality, their warranty (you can try them and if they don't work out for you, you can still return them), and it is one of the few stores that I feel the price is worth it. If you can try to go into the store and try them on, then you can feel the fabric and it is so much better than my ON/Gap items. But then again, it is a different price point. The majority of my gear (including cold winter running) is Athleta and they have been through repeated washings and still look great. For bottoms, I would check out Athleta's Drifter Tights and Polartec tights.
I have heard good things on H&F board about Nike's Element Shield Zip Jacket for cold weather running (yay for thumbholes too) and will be looking to pick one up this weekend b/c I have been a wuss about running in the frigid temps. I believe they also just released the women's Shield running pants/tights too?
I also love my Lululemon Speed tights (they are fleece lined) for running. I have a few pairs of Target's fleece lined C9 running tights but once I purchased the LLL tights, I always reach for those (more comfy, feels better on, better "flexibility" when running) but again it is more $ than the Target version.
Under Armour Cold gear compression leggings are excellent and I second Athleta! those are the two warmest pants I've tried. I've heard good things about Fila fleece lined running tights from Kohls too ( i never tried them).
I prefer pants that feel like my normal compression capris and UA are as close as it gets for me!
