A lab tech told me 'now you don't have to worry about having two so close together' when she drew blood during my first miscarriage.

And my sister in law told my H in front of everyone (and on Mother's Day) that she was mad at him because he 'shot out the wrong kind' when we told everyone that Dd2 was a girl.

IDK, but a lot of people do. H actually really want(ed) a girl. I mean, not like hardcore or anything but he admitted that he wanted a girl when I was pregnant with David and when we tried a second time he said he REALLY wanted it to be a girl.

DH does want a boy, but that's because he's worried he'd end up with another daddy's girl and he thinks I need one who will cling to me too so it's more fair

I had an incredibly chauvanistic boss one time who, when he found out another coworker was having a boy, "Oh good, every man needs a son" (deserves?) - sad part of that he had a daughter too.



In birth class we were going around introducing ourselves, DH said "I can't wait to take my little buddy fishing" and the teacher said "oh! A boy! Congrats!" and DH was all confused when he replied "what? No, a girl"

That's not too weird to me. Women with PCOS have too many male hormones in their bodies, often have a lot of hair, and trouble conceiving.

But the presence of a lot of hair does not by itself predict future fertility issues, and is certainly not something you say to random people.

H's brother and his wife have 4 daughters. BIL LOVES his girls but would he have also liked a boy? Yes. Nothing wrong with that.

FIL told BIL's wife that it was her duty to keep having kids until they had a boy.

She was nicer than I would have been but then he knew not to say something like that to me because he knew I wouldn't put up with and would have ripped him a new one. Probably several new ones. He was such a gem.

We got so many comments when I was pregnant about how we didn't need to have any more because I was pregnant with a boy and had a daughter already. I finally just smiled and kept my thoughts to myself because I got tired of telling people we would have been more than happy with another daughter.

Oh! This woman at my OB's office was pregnant with her fourth child and told me she had so many because she really wanted a girl. She was one of those who told me I didn't need to have any more because we had one of each.

Also, as I was waiting outside the hospital while my husband got the car there was another woman who was headed home too. She just had her fourth boy and her mom (who was waiting with her) was already bringing up trying for a girl. The new mother of four scoffed and said she was run ragged enough and there was no way she was trying for a girl
