I am currently enjoying...sitting on my ass. Breakfast today was a large helping of jello salad (Mom's Thanksgiving jello salad is basically raspberry jello and applesauce, it's fab) and an equally large scoop of leftover chicken dip with some Ritz crackers. J is getting ready to go to work and AJ is still asleep. I'm trying to decide if we will brave the mall for some people watching (and SS gift shopping) later. Decisions, decisions.
DH is packing while I'm watching Curious George with DD. I'm thinking about pulling out my knitting stuff that I haven't even looked at in almost 10 years to try to reteach myself to knit on the drive...because I need another hobby for which I have no time or money.

DH is out getting Starbucks for us and M is running around the house like a crazy kid. We moved a bunch of furniture out of our living room yesterday to fit everyone around a big table, and he is loving the open space.

I'm getting ready to eat pumpkin trifle or banana pudding for breakfast. Tough decision.
DH is working a half day, then we're going to MIL's for the last Thanksgiving dinner of the year.
And I have a possibly flameful dilemma. I am 100% anti-circus, but FIL really wants to take all the grandkids this year and I don't want to be the asshole who is all "no, my kid can't go". Ugh. Also, he is a brave man for wanting to take 5 kids all under 10 to the circus with just step-MIL to help. That sounds like my own personal version of Hell. For many reasons.
Ages and Stages questionnaire asks, "Do you and your child enjoy mealtimes together?" Are they politely asking if we eat together, or are they trying to get me to admit that there is nothing enjoyable about negotiating with a 3-year-old at the dinner table?
DD napped while we ate Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, and woke up right as we finished--perfect timing! Mr. Smock did all the dishes while I fed the baby.
I realized later that for the first Thanksgiving ever I didn't get seconds! And also for the first Thanksgiving ever I didn't feel uncomfortably stuffed afterwards. So thanks again, baby!
How is 1 meal 3 days worth of work?! We prepped several things Wednesday night, cooked and ate Thursday, did some dishes Thursday night, and are both STILL doing dishes this morning. And there's still at least 2 dishwasher loads left, plus hand washing. And we only had 5.5 people! So.tired.
Ds2 was up at 4 due to teething. He fell back asleep on me on the couch where I'm currently stuck. Ds1 got up at his normal 6:15 and I'm hoping he'll play quietly so ds2 can still sleep
DS and I were playing with Play-doh the other day and built some snowmen with it. Since then he's been obsessed with snowmen. I'm taking advantage of that by putting Frozen in the DVD player and cuddling with him on the couch and playing on my phone while he watches. Yay lazy mornings.
Woke up at usual weekday time, so I'm downstairs browsing for gifts on my phone while msniq sleeps in. Might take V for a run if this cough doesn't kill me.
Ds1 got up for the day at 4am. It's earlier every day. Ds2 was woken up by the commotion and decided to party for 1.5hrs. Dh and I are so tired
4:30 here for DS. What is with our kids?! H took him until 7 and then I got up with K, made breakfast, pumped, and sent H back to bed.
osulori I am jealous AJ is still sleeping. When does he go to bed?
He went to bed way late last night because we weren't paying attention to the time at my parents' and he was too busy playing, but usually he's in bed around 745-8p. He's been a late sleeper from when I went back to work after ML, I think it's because J doesn't have to be up until a little later so he got used to me waking him up to change his diaper and nurse him before I went to work then he'd just go back to sleep after I put him back in the crib. Homeboy sleeps like a teenager...I'm not sure how, or why, or how long he'll do this for but I won't lie, it's nice.
They are in town to meet DD for the first time. I called my mom this morning to see whereTF they were, and they hadn't even gotten showers yet. It's 9:30 people! You told me 9:30 so I got up at 8 so the baby and I could be presentable for your visit. If that had not been the case we would have slept until 10 because I was up with DD from 1:30-5:30 last night. Now I'm going to have to feed her right as they get here and she's going to be crabby. My mom said that I should just take a nap now and they'd readjust their time. Um, no it doesn't work that way. DD will take a nap when she pleases and right now she is happily playing on her playmat. I can't just make the baby nap on demand. If it were 8 I could soothe her back to sleep after feeding her, but we missed that window.
My kids are crankmonsters after a night in the woods. The SIX year old is crying over me washing his lovies. I'm pissed at DH for losing the 2 yos hat. It will get better soon.
H and my brother went shopping this morning. He came home with a bunch of discount DVDs, a 5-foot tall teddy bear, and a Christmas tree. ?? We looked at a bunch in the ads last night and I clearly remember saying, "Yeah, I would have to take a look at them in person and see."
Annoyed does not begin to convey how I feel right now. Because the one he bought had no display model, so he is now setting up a 7.5 foot tree at my parents' house, which then has to be dissembled back into the box to return to the store or take home.
C slept until 9. Now we're lounging while DH sleeps in. I think we're going to Target to pick up the trampoline and look at cheap curtains for the office.

I am wearing dd's dapper snapper. I have skinny jeans on that keep falling down and I couldn't find my belt that doesn't show under tighter shirts. So I improvised

I ate like half a pie, between what I had at my parents house and my in laws house. I somehow weight .2 lbs less than I did yesterday. I asked my mil for the turkey bones to make bone broth and she gave me all the leftover turkey, too. She thought it turned out terrible (it wasn't), but I'm happy for the leftovers.

DH and i stayed up until midnight catching up on SOA. Then DS1 was coughing a ton so I gave him more meds and snuggled with him for a bit. Then he came into our room around 130am not too long after I finally fell asleep and layer next to me and tried to talk to me a bunch. I just kept telling him it was nighttime and to go to sleep. Then around 2 am he said "I'm going to go back to my bed mommy. After I go potty." Fine, whatever kid. But then he came back in at 6am and passed out next to me.
So now it's 715 and everyone is still sleeping. And I'm up. And still sick.
sjh722 how was your backyard turkey (or did I get the wrong person?)
We had a normal turkey. My brother brought nothing (which I will take nothing over yard turkey, I guess!), showed up late, and left right after eating. After I drug along 5 things, and got up at 6 a.m. to be here on time. I'm not even slightly annoyed, can you tell?
