I am dreading finding all the burnt out bulbs on the tree, my dad says he has some sort of gadget that is supposed to detect bad bulbs, so I may borrow it to try and make it easier. Finley is super excited to put the tree in her room up, it even incentivized her enough to clean up her room perfectly yesterday.
We are!! H had to go into work this am for a bit, & at first I was all motivated & thought I'd get everything outta storage before he returns. Yeah, erm... I'm still in bed, whoops! I Did start the coffee though, so that should help me drag myself out
That's the plan. I'm shocked to say I'm actually looking forward to it. MIL and FIL are coming over to help me move furniture, assemble some new bookshelves, and put up the tree. Tomorrow H will probably put up lights outside.
It just dawned on me though, that when we moved in and had to deal with our huge stash of Christmas crap, our solution was to shove it all up in the attic and "deal with it when the time comes". Ugh, the time has come, I guess.

We are! I said this in the Randoms, but I hope Leo loves the tree but not enough to mess with it. Everyone is telling us we shouldn't bother putting one up!
I am torn. DH and I decided that I can turn our basement guest room into my craft room (wahoo!!!) so I want to get started on taking apart all the stuff that is in there that but at the same time, I want the house decorated for the holidays.
H has to work at noon and I have to bring my car in at 11, but we're hopefully going to try and put some stuff up before then. Maybe just the stuff that goes in the ground and wait on the hung lights until Sunday (he works all day tomorrow too )

I know that people always say that. My youngest didn't have a big problem with. I just made sure it was anchored and put none breakable sat the bottom. Good luck

Neither of my kids ever gave us a problem with the tree. And they are hell raisers generally, so it's not like it was outside the realm of possibility that they would destroy it :-)
Just keep any especially precious ornaments off the tree this year and you should be fine.
We're oot right now, but I'm sure we'll decorate when we get back. DH has already put up the outdoor lights. It's been a dream of mine to have an outdoor tree with big ornaments and we have the perfect one at our new house. I just need to go get ornaments for it.
We're going to hang stockings and set up the tree with lights, but I think we'll wait to put ornaments on it until my mom and sister come out to visit in a couple of weeks.

I am! I just decorated my mantle and hung our stockings. Unfortunately none of my lights work I'm waiting for H to get home and either fix them or go get new ones. We're getting our tree tomorrow!
I was hoping this would be the year my mom would start gifting me some of her Christmas decorations (she does a very small-scale decorating now.) She mentioned it last year, then said she wasn't ready to part with any of it but changed her mind again this summer. I'm not going to mention it.
Either way, I'm decorating next weekend, it's still a little early for me.
I'm planning to put my fall stuff away today but won't get the tree and stuff out till tomorrow when it will be a little warmer and I won't freeze getting it out of the garage.

I was told this, too but it was never an issue. He wanted to touch it at first and we let him because he was curious but then he got bored of it.
I wish but we have to go to Thanksgiving #3 today at my dads and DD will nap in the car on the way home so it's doubtful that I'll do anything other than take down the fall decor.
Mr. Wambam is bringing in and setting up the tree. Then he's going down to my parents to retrieve stuff we were storing in their basement. I'll decorate while he's gone.
I am done except for our lights outside, will do those after lunch. And Finley's room tree isn't done because my mom bought her a new tree last year at an after X-mas sale. And it is BLACK. So I have another ordered to pick up today.
We have a friendsgiving to go to this afternoon, but I'm going to try to drag H away before it gets too late because I want to start decorating. So we'll definitely be working on it this weekend, not sure exactly when it'll be fully done though.
