So I'm a little obsessed with my dog, and this is the Christmas card we are using this year (this is not our actual card):
On the back, we have three pics of our whole family with the typical "Wishing you a Merry christmas" blah blah blah.
My question is: If you got this card in the mail with the dog side facing up, would you think to turn it over and see the back? Also, would you understand that it's a Christmas card from seeing the front?
We already ordered these, they got delivered, and I love them. My hesitation is only with which side to put "up" in the envelope. I want to put the actual front of the card (the side pictured above) up because it really is the front of the card. H thinks we should actually put the back of the card up so people understand it's a Christmas card and will see that side. But it is obviously the back because it has Minted.com and some other stuff printed small at the bottom.
I would totally turn it over to look at the back. I wouldn't think it was a Christmas card based soley on the front but if it's coming in an addressed envelope anytime in December, I'd assume it is a Christmas card before I even open it.

I forgot to say in OP that we chose the design that has green and red as the colors on the card plus the pics of Rox that we used have her in a Christmas bow in front of our Xmas tree. does that help some?
I would put it the family photo side up. Most people would look at the back, especially if you are close to them, to see if there is a personal message.
With the colors and Christmas tree photo I would totally know it was a xmas card and flip it over. I would love it if the dog owners I know sent me something like that!
Eh, I would want the family pics and Christmas message to be the primary thing people see. Its a Christmas card. ETA: I'm not a dog person though. Full disclosure. The family pics and Christmas message would really be all I'm interested in. I think people will see both sides.
I think with your update people will know it's a Christmas card. Like pps said though, if I get something in December I'm going to think it is a Christmas card and I always looks at the back.
I love dogs but does yours say butts sniffed and cat poop treats?
LOL no. All of the text was editable. I listed things like "walks taken, Greenies eaten, squirrels chased" etc. I am not talking about butt sniffing on my Christmas card haha!
Honestly I would side eye someone who mailed me their kids performance review as a Christmas card, and would double sideye someone who sent a dog performance review.

Eh, I know it's not everyone's thing. I only send cards to 20 people or less and they are all close family and friends who totally "get" how we are with our dog and will find it funny.
ETA: And it isn't a serious performance review, as the performance review section is actually a review of the humans, not the dog. The whole thing is TIC. I knew it would not go over well here, which is why I did not ask for opinions before ordering, as I was going to do it anyway lol. Haters gonna hate.
