I am laying on the couch having eaten too much leftovers and too many chestnuts. My question is I have a baby who likes to climb on everything, how much should I worry about him pulling the Christmas tree down on himself?

I watched The Monuments Men tonight. Wild night, lucy is sleeping at my parents house and DH is at the neighborhood shit hole bar across the street. I'm so so tired

Andy was fine when we just put soft unbreakable ornaments on the bottom foot of the tree. If you're that worried you could always do a playard around it. Or gate off the living room unless you're in it.
I'm picking up my dress tomorrow. I am debating getting a flowery/feather pin for the belt. I'll provide pics of course, but until then, yay or nay on belt adornment?

did you like it? I have wanted to see this.
I am always amazed at the protection of art during war.
1. I have been eating nothing but junk, and now my stomach is upset. Still eating anyway. 2. I finally, possibly for the first time ever, got something for my dad's birthday that I think he might like. Now just watch, he'll think it's stupid. 3. Went black friday shopping for the first time ever. Went to the knitting store and the candy shop. Then I ordered myself a kindle as a gift for me from my H.
I pity ate a bacon egg and cheese for breakfast and then a cheeseburger and fries for lunch, neither of which I've ever done in my entire working career. And now I went and ate both on the same day because I was feelin sorry for myself. And now I'm shriveled up like a raisin from the sodium. Also bloaty
I could have sworn I heard a guy with a tuba following me as I walked home from the train station.

I liked that I actually recognized some of the paintings. lol

Well, it's pretty much right up my alley. I loved it! Missed the first few minutes, since I caught it on tv. But it's got art history, bill Murray, and John goodman, so it was a guaranteed home run
Ha if I could wear that one I would. Nothing at all though. I've never wanted a veil, and the back of my dress is pretty so I want ot show it off.
I could put the belt clip in my hair instead, but I don't want to fuss with anything, and I'd have to take it out after I change into a Nigerian outfit.
I feel teary. Went to yoga, it was so painful. But calming. Then I napped. Better mood. Then decided to hit the mall. Now I just want to cry. Lots of ups and down and feeling bad for myself. But tomorrow is a new day. So that's good
Oh, and is ate almost two GF cupcakes. So yea!
I think I missed what's wrong, but I'm sorry you're feeling this way

My toddler woke up with a fever this morning, so today's been a lot of laying around, watching TV, trying to get him to rest. I did some online shopping and bought a bunch of clothes I didn't need, but they're cute!

Can we seriously audit your class? I want to absorb some of your awesome.
Haha sure. I mean, it's basically some art history goodness mixed with dick jokes and corny puns. zoidberg got to experience the show live!

I think it sounds really lovely, especially with no veil. I'm excited to see the pictures.
I talked DH into letting me turn the basement guest room/dog crate room into my craft room/office. I am in heaven. We have another guest room upstairs so this one never gets used.
I spent the afternoon and evening moving the dog crates into the main part of the basement and the day bed and another double bed into storage and moving my desk, one shelf unit, my crafty crap stored all over the house downstairs, etc. into the room. I need to get 2 more shelf units at Target tomorrow, along with some other storage boxes and bins and I will be ready to roll! I will have a dedicated sewing desk and another work table. So much space to get crafty!
And now I am trying to convince him that the flat screen in his office, that he never watches, needs to go up in the room.
So tomorrow I hope to have everything organized and then Sunday will be decorating the house day.

Yes to belt accessories meggers5. If I recall correctly your dress is all lace with minimal adornments right? A little extra bling won't hurt. Have fun tomorrow!
I just started knitting the ribbing on a hat for a friend for Christmas. I'm flabbergasted since this pattern contains so many new-to-me techniques. I have been knitting for 10 years. I guess I've never made a hat before. I'm also watching Mr. Selfridge on Netflix which might be the best show ever. I have a love/hate relationship with Jeremy Piven as Ari Gold. It's all love for Mr. Selfridge.
Tomorrow is going to be a full day of hanging out with girlfriends. Brunch with my university housemates and then my bff is coming over and we're going to make wedding related decisions for her, and finalize a pattern and fabric for her wedding quilt.
DS is having an eczema flare up. We are staying at DHs grandma's house and it's hot and dry in the house. I bought his regular stuff but when I went to put it on he started screaming and shaking. His face turned red he was screaming so hard. I out him in the tub and he screamed the whole time I washed it off. I just put aquaphor on and put him to bed. I felt so horrible.
I don't know if it's because it really hurt or because he was overtired (long day, short nap due to noisy relatives, and in bed late). I'm so upset over it. I've never seen him scream that hard.
How do I get my 2 year old to stop hitting when he gets mad? We're doing the whole don't hit, it's not nice thing or just flat out ignoring it but it's not helping. And everything I read says not to hit back so we aten't spanking or anything. He's been hitting in the face though so we need to nip it in the bud right now. I don't know what else to do.
@cse1960 That is the plan. My parents always give some money for Christmas and a TV will be my present to myself if I can't appropriate DH's.
Want to now the crazy part? We have so much random furniture stuff in our basement (from my parents, his mom, etc.) that the only things I have to buy are the 2 shelf units and the bins/tubs. I will have 2 desks, 3 shelf units, a table, a settee (for the dogs to sleep on while I working in here), a file cabinet and more in here (it is a big room - 15x15). So for about $150, I have a brand new private space (my old "office" was a desk in the corner of the basement) to escape to.

I know that sometimes when my eczema is bad the creams sting. I can easily see it taking an overtired kid over the edge. I'm sorry your boy is having a rough go of it. I hope he's feeling better soon.

I am so sorry. what a dreadful day. I hope things are better soon. Can you get a humidifier going in your room?
They don't have one. We go home tomorrow. I have his oatmeal bath and a humidifier for his room at home so I'm hoping the aquaphor just keeps it from getting worse so we can get through tomorrow.
I just realized that my son is unlikely to get any of the top items he's asked santa for, and I feel terrible about it. Especially because:
1. He has pored over his list (which started at 20 items) and narrowed it down to only 3 or 4 things, and 2. there is a high likelihood that this is going to be his last year as a believer.
One of the things was only eliminated for price, so I may try to convince my husband to spend a little more for the sake of Christmas magic.

Thank you. His is never this bad. I just don't know what to do.
I'm laying in bed watching cheesy Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, trying to calm my nerves about my first half marathon tomorrow. Trying being the operative word.
