I have to tell someone because I am excited/nervous/freaking out. Since we have had a miscarriage before I am super nervous.
I found out this morning we are having number #2 and I am on a flight to NY for work. H is upset I am leaving after finding out. The overprotectiveness apparently kicked in fast.
im a fan of just dropping the news in random conversations. "oh, yes, that was such a fun memory from summer. im excited for this year since we'll have a newborn! please pass the gravy." watching people pause and connect the dots is fun.

Congrats!! Someone posted the other day an etsy shop that had really cute big brother /sister shirts - way cuter than average. I cant remember who, maybe someone can link it? I would put the older sinking in that for Christmas dinner.
I like the suggestions to drop it into casual conversation or dress big brother up in the cutest “big brother” shirt you can find.
The ideas for Christmas are really endless, though. Off the top of my head, these are my ideas: put baby socks in someone’s (your mom’s?) stocking and then claim them as your own/explain when she seems puzzled; wrap a “big brother” gift for your son to open in front of everyone; either you or your H can give the other some kind of baby-related gift to open with the crowd; give someone a onesie that’s funny/cute wrt one of his/her interests and then explain how it’ll be put to use; or (classic) wrap an ultrasound pic if you have one by then.
Please don’t give anyone the used pee stick. hahaha I’ve seen that on YouTube.

Unless you're not telling the older sibling yet? We announced at Chriatmas last year, but did so when DD was playing with her cousins in the basement. We didn't tell her until my Maternit21 test results and all that came back.
Anyway, congratulations! However you tell your family, they will be excited.
