I've had a rattly cough/ cold for like 3 weeks now. I'm starting to wonder if I should see the doctor. My H told me yesterday that I have an extremely loud cough. Um... Thanks. Not something I can control!
We had such a nice 4 day weekend I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. I can't believe only a few weeks until Christmas! I have so much to do before then!!

I pulled a muscle while hanging lights on our trees outside (I was tossing them up and over the taller branches,). It hurts in just about every position but standing. Thank goodness for lidocaine patches, this needs to get much better before work tomorrow.
DHs stepmom texted him on Thursday saying we should try to get together for dinner or snacks on Sunday, and to let them know if that works. Dh responded with OK (as in ok well let you know). Nothing has been mentioned since.
She texted him a few minutes ago that they've been cooking all day and will be at our house in 45 minutes. Screeeeeeech, say what?! 1) we never confirmed. 2) we never talked about a time. 3) we never discussed food or whatever. Dh called them and said we've been gone all day and we never confirmed so tonight won't work. They're trying to make him feel bad but eff that. If she was confused by what ok meant she should've clarified.
I refuse to feel guilty for the miscommunication. And I will eat the lasagne I have in the oven guilt free.

A took a 3.5 hour nap (with one poop-related interruption) today! After 3 days of bad napping, mainly related to her starting to drop to 1 nap, and 2 late nights because of Thanksgiving dinners (Thursday and Saturday) it was very welcomed.
Apparently FIL tried the pull the "woe is us, we never see our grandson" act to SIL while they were out watching the Browns game today (the grandson in question is AJ), and he and SMIL tried to basically blame that on J and I. My SIL may be a borderline functioning alcoholic, and she may be a bitch when she's real drunk, but sometimes she knows when to shut shit down and she did that on our behalf to FIL today so I want to hug her right now. She basically reminded him of the fact that J and I (okay mostly me because J is not the plans maker, I am) cannot always be the ones to reach out-if they want to see us/AJ, they can CALL ME. Which both of us have tried to tell them in the past but they don't listen. It's so annoying.
So now I'm watching Transformers. Hot, sweaty, dirty Josh Duhamel? YES PLEASE.
YOU GUYS. SFIL just turned the living room TV to Madame Secretary and said we should all watch it. None of the other three of us have ever watched it or have any idea what is going on. I didn't even know it was a show.
I excused myself to "check the score" of the Denver game. Yessssssssss. This should take me an hour or so.
How long have they been at your house? I would be going insane with company of any kind, even my own family, for that long. I feel like they rolled in before Thursday, yes?

Last Tuesday night.
THIS IS WHY I HAVE CLOSET WINE.
THIS IS WHY I DON'T HAVE GUEST ROOMS.
eta: I don't articulate my thoughts very well, but I'm hyperventilating and doing shots in the closet on your behalf.
You guys, my H just revealed that he hasn't had an eye exam since he took his drivers test at age 16. He's 36. Duuuude.
This was me until a couple years ago when MIL and DH insisted I go. She works for an optometrist in DH's tiny hometown. I just went again this summer and finally got my first pair of glasses. When else would I have had an eye exam?
I was scrolling through my babycenter BMB (mostly for the entertainment value; those women are crazy) and someone is pregnant again already. She had her baby 10/7. I cannot imagine.

How is this possible?!?!
I don't know! She would have had to have gotten pregnant like 5 weeks after giving birth! Someone asked about BF as birth control and she came in like, nope, I EBF and I'm pregnant again!

My sisters are almost exactly 13 months apart. My nethers shiver at that thought!
Add me to the list of people who are glad that tomorrow is Monday. The kids go back to school and I get to work in a quiet house. DH left for a business trip today. He was supposed to come home Friday afternoon but that has been extended to next Sunday so he can meet his family at the big college football game. I encouraged him to do it but now I'm pouting that I have to single parent for an entire week including all of next weekend.

My nightmare!
My nieces are 11 months apart. And they would have been closer together, but the younger one came nearly two weeks late. My SIL said they were cleared at 6 weeks, did it that night and apparently, did not use a condom. When she was back at the OB a few weeks later, pregnant, the OB joked that BIL and SIL must have gone right at it in the parking lot after getting the clear. Lol
Our Christmas tree looks so shitty it is comical. I bought a fake tree last year for while the children are young and I totally was cheap. Now I have an ugly and sad tree.
Ours is shitty, too. It's Tom's grandma's tree so we didn't even buy it. I already hate having a fake tree, but now I have one you can basically see through and to top it off, it now has 8 NBA figurines hanging on it because MIL got out the kids old ornaments this weekend. So, thanks MIL, now I can see Scottie Pippen and look straight through to see Larry Bird.
Mine has been shitty since I bought it, 9 years ago. I was bold this year and tore off all of the attached lights, since the middle strand has been out for 8 year, and added my own LEDs. Still looks shitty. I'm buying a new one after Christmas! Someone hold me to that.
