I am not feeling that optimistic this cycle (Cycle 4, 3 actually tracking/using OPK's). Was thinking of starting temping but it sounds like it won't work well if I A) don't always temp at the same time and B) My sleep is a bit messy. I wake often throughout the night and often in the early mornings due to city noise.
Should I bother? It sounds a little complicated, but I'm a little confused by my cycles and growing concerned about a short LP. I've been getting a positive OPK around CD18 or 19 and my cycles are only 28 or 29 days. I am taking B vitamins and herbs from my acupuncturist.
TTC is so much more damned complicated than I thought it would be.
What I've heard here many times is that as long as you get 3 consecutive hours of sleep, you can use that temp even if it's not at the same time every day.. Overall, you just want to see a pattern. It may not be exact....but it helps.
Me personally? I also like to use the temp corrector through FF VIP if I wake up way later than when I normally temp....like oversleeping.

I definitely do not get up the same time every day and I have had no problems with temps in terms of seeing a shift, getting crosshairs, etc. I usually wake up during the night too. IDK, it's just not something I can get worked up about.

I think it depends on how messed up we're talking when it comes to sleep. I know for myself, I often wake in the night, but I'm able to go back to sleep post-pee or whatever within 3 hours of my usual wake time. In my experience I do still see a temp shift.
However, there are some nights when I'm a total insomniac, and those days are usually not worth temping for me. I might get up at 3 am and never go back to bed, or fall asleep for an hour and then get up. In those cases, I just skip that day and hope that it won't go on too long.
I still do it. It's not the individual days so much as the pattern that are important, and you can still get that (at least I can) even with some aberrant data points.
