I purchased a MK tote for my mom yesterday at a local MK outlet store. Came home and found a nicer and less expensive MK tote with Macy's F&F event. Went to return the MK tote today and was told they do not offer refunds!!!
I had to take store credit as there weren't any other options. So now I've canceled the Macy's order and am now going back to the Outlet in a couple of weeks to repurchase the damn tote. I'm so annoyed I don't even want to give them my business (technically I already have).
Has anyone experience this with MK stores? I called their CS and was basically told I was lucky I even got a store credit as sometimes they don't even offer that if an item is on sale.
I'm just shocked at their return policy considering they're a major designer retailer. And I've never came across this b/c I've always purchased through Nordstrom.
Even F21 tells you sale items are final and their products are a hell lot cheaper.
That was an expensive lesson to learn and the last MK product I'll ever purchase! Vent over. Thanks for reading!
thejen626, I could kiss you right now! I just called AMEX and they removed the charge, no questions asked. I LOVE AMEX and YOU!!! LOL.
Yay!!!!! so happy for you. SUCK IT, MICHAEL KORS! Outlets have all kinds of stupid rules and they generally don't give a fuck about customer service. They know that people will still shop there and one customer isn't worth keeping happy. It's why I rarely shop outlets anymore.

I've had a similar experience. I was looking at a cross body bag and the SA at MK mentioned that I had 30 days for a return to decide, but not that it was store credit only. I decided against the bag since I didn't need it until after Thanksgiving. It was small and over a hundred at that time. I figured there would be a better sale and waited. I eventually got it for $65 and when I bought it I asked spefically about refunds. That's when I learned about their stupid store credit or exchange only policy. I have a feeling it's why their outlet stores are usually pretty empty.
Hi all - stumbled upon this post a little late but am in same situation: bought a bag at the outlet only to find a nicer, equally priced tote from Macy's sale (ended today). Am planning on returning the outlet bag tomorrow but know they will only offer exchange or store credit - was wondering what you said to American Express and where/when you made the call because I am hoping to give it a shot with VISA tomorrow. Do I make the call while in the outlet store and have them talk to a representative? What do you say to have them cancel the transaction? Any insight would really really help! Thanks so much!
