alternative to booties w/ this dress?

I really don't like the look of booties.  Assuming this dress arrives and looks great, I will need some shoes to go with.  This is for a daytime holiday party at a restaurant, sort of a conservative group.

I hate open toed booties. I haven't seen any so far that I thought were cute even though it seems like they're popular right now. Ew. Closed toed booties would be cute if those aren't your cup of tea, I agree with callmehales, flats would be great, even wedges or a cognac boot with tights?

Pumps. I never wear booties with dresses. Makes me look stumpy, with legs as fat as utility poles.

Oh I love that dress! I would either wear closed toe short boots or knee high boots.

I would wear knee high camel colored riding boots or knee high boots with a low heel. Grey pumps would also look nice.

I got this dress to! I think there are many ways to wear it, I'm probably going to wear ballet flats or possibly boots.

So, dresses came. I am not happy with any of these looks, but chronicled them for hour amusement anyway. The kids like the Mrs. Clause look best. I can not for the life of me figure out how to post a new thread from my new phone but if I am successful uploading the pics, I will regale you with the horrifying questions my daughter asked me.

Sorry. Not trying to bump this. I got a new phone and computer is in the shop. Nothing is working. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app and thought I'd try posting the pics again. It didn't work. I can't even figure out how to make a new thread on the phone.

Try downloading the Tapatalk app instead of Proboard. It works much better to upload pictures

Looks like tapatalk was the answer. I can both post threads AND post pics. I don't like it so far but it does work.

So the story. I'm wearing spanx. DD asks me what are those? I told her they are like some extra underwear to help me keep my extra mom parts in. I meant my pooch.
She said, "Oh, like your vaginas?"

Hard for me to see, but I think this is the one I kept. I love the gray shoes that may be in one of the pics. I can't find anything they look good with, maybe gray trousers. They are comfortable, and are Mary Jane style with a kitten heel.
I will not be wearing the gray heels with this dress. I wanted them to look but I'm going with black heeled boots.
