I'm sitting in my home office doing an eight hour continuing education class. While I'm doing this, I'm running laundry and knitting a scarf I hope will be done in time to be a Christmas gift. In some ways I'm starting to see the appeal of working from home. I feel like I'm getting so much more done today and have easy access to my bathroom, meds, etc. On the other side, with my migraine and a bed so close, it is so much more tempting to walk away and take a nap.
Good day here. Baked Christmas cookies this morning, coffee with good friends, and super productive for work while DD takes a 3 hour nap. Showering, then headed to a low-key holiday party tonight!
Hung drywall, took a walk through the neighborhood and H is now finishing getting ready for date night in. We have a fancy menu, French wine, and yummy candles

I went to say goodbye to my grandpa today. I live 5 hours away and he hasn't been out of bed in 5 days so I'm pretty sure that's the last time I will see him.
I'm worried about my dad and brother. There was family drama when I was 6 that has caused my dad and his brother to not speak in 24 years. He was there today and we just don't acknowledge each other.
My brother blames himself even though my Uncle is 100% at fault. It's just so fucked up. Because of this we have had a strained relationship with my dad's family and now that I have to say goodbye I'm so mad.
Sorry to be so down, I just needed to get that out.
DH and I are at a resort this weekend and at sunset a guy comes and plays the bagpipes. It reminds me of my grandpa who I still miss terribly (it's been 9 years) so while it's so beautiful and peaceful it still makes me really sad.
Also, we had Thai food last night that was really spicy. My leftovers are like even more, extra extra spicy. OMG my whole face is on fire.

I'm taking a break from writing my obituary and funeral plans for class. It's an interesting assignment, to have to imagine the what and when and how, etc associated with your future death.
today was pretty darn near perfect. slept in, my sister took the train in and we went out to lunch at a cute local place. got makeovers with six of my closest friends, went shopping, and surprised FI with a box of fancy donuts when I came home. dinner and new girl on the couch then I gave my sister a makeover using my own stuff, which she liked better than the professional one she got earlier.
relaxing now before we head over to a friend's christmas party later.

Today I got soo much done. I am never this productive on the weekends. -mailed off my holiday cards -washed TWO cars -sorted and recorded all my receipts from the past 2 weeks (I've done really well this year keeping up with our spending!) -loaded some new music onto the car's USB drive -cleaned the house a little -emailed a recruiter in San Antonio (H and I decided we will be moving to either San Antonio or DC next! We're letting my future job decide which place we move to) -emailed my old professor to thank him for being a reference -made lasagna for dinner tomorrow night so we don't end up picking up pizza again.
I am TIRED! A glass of wine sounds really nice right now, but... have to get up early so we're about to get in bed and fall asleep to Big Bang Theory.
Yesterday, I went to Frankfurt's Christmas market. Pretty cool! Oh, and I found a previously unknown to me yarn shop... *grin*
And today, I am meeting up with a buddy that lives near here (a nestie, too!), and we'll be visiting a couple other Christmas Markets. I have the sudden urge to pick up stocking stuffers for DH...
gogreengowhite, I just saw your post - I am glad you got to see your grandfather, but those visits are also so hard. And, you are right, family drama sucks. I wish people could just put that stuff behind them (assuming it's put-behind-able) and if not, then it's just always difficult. Hugs to you.

I don't think you are supposed to eat the candles
Damn, I knew I was doing SOMETHING wrong!!
tacom, first of all your day yesterday sounded so fun!! And - to answer your q...if it is super fancy date night, both H and I dress up same as going out to a restaurant or whatever!
I took DS1 bowling on Saturday morning. I haven't bowled since probably 1999. I got legitimately beaten by a 4 year old. I was not trying to let him win. 109 to 85. In my defense he had bumpers!

I'm getting ready for my first day at my new job tomorrow! This involves all my beauty regimen- shaving, waxing, painting my nails. My DH is like "it's 8am. You have 24 hours." Perhaps I am a little bit anxious?
