Aww, you guys! I've been out of it over the weekend (dental surgery - more H than F, sadly), so I'm just catching up on this. I'm glad you had such a wonderful weekend, HUGE congrats to the amazing runners, and thank you for sharing some of the fun with the rest of us!
clseale you captured the weekend so perfectly. I am still so overwhelmed by how amazing the women are the board are. I couldn't be more thrilled to have met you all and can't wait for the next GTG!
I got so used to being around who like to talk running that I just tried to talk to some non runner CWs about splits from Saturday's race. They were really nice about pretending to listen.
Right? I was just doing the same. "Oh, I could totally have been a pacer - my splits were that even!" as their eyes glaze over and they respond "uh huh, sounds great".
clseale - your recap made me teary too. I'm so impressed with all of us - the coordination and enthusiasm in pulling this off without a hitch as well as the group support during the race was just amazing.
Like lauren170 said - this trip was very motivating. I PR'd by a whole 10 minutes (and beat my goal time by 3) - I can see a sub 2:00 in my near future. Watching all of you get out there and rock it was very inspiring to me!
Finally - Charleston is the cutest place ever. I just can't get over it.
You need enfuego23 to run with you-she'll make sure it happens!!
One moment that will stay with me was when Enfuego and I made our way back up the course to cheer on anyone else still running. We ran into to taratru, clseale, and runblondie26 around mile 24. We cheered Tara on, and as they passed us I looked back. I saw Tara looking so strong for being 24 miles in, with runblondie and clseale a few steps behind her, supporting her silently. And that image is the embodiment of H&F - even if we don't run every race together. All of us just a few steps behind each runner, if only in spirit.
Thanks for sharing this awesome glimpse into the weekend clseale. Congrats to all of you!! At a smaller race like that I can't imagine how neat it was to know so many people.
Even though I wasn't there, I guess it makes me feel even happier (and less weird) to have a group of Internet friends. When we're honest about it, we do spend a fair amount of time communicating with each other. It's good to know it's as real and genuine as it seems.

I wish I had thought to take a picture.
I know exactly what you're talking about. I said to them "I feel you back there!" My heart was so full.
We are always just silently a few steps behind supporting those big moments. Every big moment I've had, I've FELT the support while I'm technically all alone. Then I come back and see that it was there just like I knew it was
Great recap of the weekend clseale. Congrats to everyone that raced on Saturday. It must have been so much fun racing with so many friends. Sorry to have missed it. Maybe next year!
Love the recap! I really want to do another half now. I love the distance so much more than a 5k! I just have to lose weight to make it easier to run grrr. Oh and I went to spin today to shake out my legs. It didn't help.
