I've been up since 3:30am when the surround sound turned on scaring the shit out of me. I was on the couch and immediately looked for H, but nope not around and the cat was still laying on me.
Hoping since I got a decent bonus yesterday my marketing meeting with CEO will be a cinch today and I can sneak out for some day shopping for myself.
Not much going on here these days. Just trying to get ready for the holidays in 1 piece. Junior keeps asking why he can't open any of the presents under the tree and every day more arrive. I keep expecting to come home one day and he will have unwrapped everything.
Good morning everyone. Happy Tuesday. Our meeting last night with our loan person was awesome. We went over a couple options and I'm really excited to hear that we are in a good place for buying when the time comes. Nothing else new. I packed gym clothes today, first time in a while. @uwhuskygirl - are you still working out with the trainer?

@aellasbeth Sometimes, a job is a job and you just gotta do it. You can always job search in the mean time if you are so inclined
Good morning! Today is my last day before I use 5 days of PTO Today will probably be busy and hectic. Our building management is having a "surprise" fire drill, most of the office doesn't know, so it should be a bit of a shit show.
Tonight H and I are going to a concert, because H's cousin is in town and is playing.
@aellasbeth - agree, sometimes a job is a job. a paycheck is better than no paycheck right now, so this is my stern but gentle suck it up buttercup.
I agree that it feels like Friday. I have early morning meetings all week and pretty much nothing in the afternoons. but H and I carpooled so I will be stuck here until he finishes up with his day.
Baking Christmas cookies this weekend really put me in the holiday spirit and now I just want to be off work! Here's to a productive week (that hopefully goes by fast)!
Thanks guys. It could be due to the fact I still haven't gotten my first paycheck and it was due to me 4 days ago and the soonest I can get it is Thursday. ...so six days late. ..

Not anymore. I do need to go back to the gym though.thanks for the nudge
@uwhuskygirl Oh man, I woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday!! What a serious bummer.
I went shopping last night after PT, I think I'm DONE with the mall, woohooooo!! I also bought some work pants at Penney's. Don't love them but they mostly fit, were less than $25 and are machine wash/dryable so they work. Just have to hem them. I came home to a package from the UK, a friend over there sent me ADORABLE stuffed red panda big and little ones!! She doesn't have much money and apparently got them back in February and had to wait until she could afford to send them, I'm so insanely touched I start crying when I think about it. Its not like we're close friends.
Today is our holiday party at work, will be kind of a disorganized mess this year. Bosslady has been sick and was out yesterday and forgot to bring the tablecloths and I forgot the spices for the hot cider. Oh wells.
@aellasbeth I'm going to have to agree - suck it up sweetheart. A paycheck is important and you've had such bad luck having a place that its important to put up with it for at least a year for your resume. Not loving a job isn't the same as HATING a job so buck up
@uwhuskygirl Things have been good, just some nausea and aversions. The exhaustion hit me late this go around but nothing too bad. We hope to find out what this one is, I am too much of a planner to not find out lol
Nothing exciting around here today. I think I got just about all my shopping done so thats exciting. now I just need to figure out what to do with the girls on Friday and Saturday for either of their birthdays.

Good morning. I'm at work today, which is a good thing, because it means that I'm not sick anymore. I had some weird stomach thing yesterday. It was either a 24 hour flu or a moderate food poisoning case. I was on the couch all but just a few hours of yesterday.
My Christmas shopping is almost totally done. I picked up James's dumb chainsaw yesterday. Now I need to think of just a few small things so he has more than just one item to open on Christmas morning. I need to pick up a few gift cards, too, and then ALL DONEZIES!
Tman has piano lesson after school today and then hopefully not too much homework.
I think I don't love my job. ..I don't hate it. It just doesn't give me excitement. Tell me I'm being whiny and picky and a job is a job right now.
I have my HR professional hat on. Take my advice with a grain of salt if you want.
Be really careful about job hopping. When I look at a resume and someone is hopping around I tend not to even give them a phone screen. To me it screams that they will leave whenever the next greatest opportunity will come.

Today is a laundry day, both my kids are completely out of socks lol. I've been kind of lazy since getting out of school. Not much else going on today.
I've been in meetings since I got to work. I set my alarm early hoping to go on the treadmill. Hahahaha yeah I just went back to sleep. OOPS! Tonight we are going to the hockey game. 2 for Tuesdays. Seems like a packed house because it took awhile for me to find some good seats.

Uneventful day here. At work with only 1 other person here so I'm having a hard time motivating to get everything done that I need to. E has a piano lesson this evening, and then I'm hoping to figure out the last of my Christmas presents I need to get (need something for two nieces and my parents and I'm done!).
I'm SO sore today. I have been running, but have been bad about going to this bootcamp class I used to go to at the gym. Went last night and today I'm having trouble walking down stairs

What are the things you don't like about the job?
I just went from call center to two jobs not being tied to the phones and learning new things to going back to a call center. I just wish I had more flexibility. I wish that I didn't feel like I was in school and getting graded every day. I'm hoping in a year maybe I can move into client services.
@aellasbeth I'll join the suck it up club here. I'm not necessarily thrilled that I've spent the last 6.5 years with a company I don't love, but I've always found positives. I have awesome coworkers who have become good friends. For a few years I had an incredible boss. For the last 3 years I've really enjoyed the work in my role. And at the end of the day, I have the paycheck and benefits that enable me to do what I really want in life and just enough work life balance (well, most days) to enjoy stuff that is more important to me than work will ever be.
fiddles makes a good point about job hopping too. Our generation in particular is known for our short attention spans and I think when you don't have as much experience under your belt as other candidates may have when you're going for a particular job, having stayed with a company for a while can give you a bit of an edge. Just my two cents. I hope you get to feeling settled soon and are able to enjoy your work!
I had a crazy busy day but my team kicked tail and I'm super proud of what we accomplished. Year end is so crazy.
H and I are headed to our small group Christmas party in a bit. I had to talk him out of taking a sex toy for the white elephant (don't worry, unused haha) because our hosts' kid may still be awake tonight. I'm taking a bottle of way too sweet wine that I have no idea why it's still on our rack.
My foot is getting a lot better this week. Big milestone is being able to go both up And down stairs

Generally companies have you start at the bottom until you prove yourself. As you prove yourself you are given more responsibility. Take this time to learn as much as possible. Be like a sponge. Those type of people are going to be the ones who are promoted. Keep taking notes and learning. You'll be where you want to be quickly enough

We do this quite often! haha We look through our rack and go, "Hmm haven't opened this botte in awhile let's give it away!"

Ditto this.
One of my friends is lamenting that she's not where she wants to be - she wants "to run her own department rather than just being a part of someone else's." Meanwhile, she's had five jobs in the last three years, and was also unemployed for a stretch of time. As a friend, I want to support her, but as a colleague, I can't recommend her for positions because I don't trust that she'll stick around. Sometimes you just have to hang tight until you build the credibility to get where you want to go.
