If you're cooking Christmas Eve/Day dinner/lunch, what are you making? I'm trying to determine what to make and I keep coming up super carb heavy
So far I'm thinking: Brown Sugar Ham Twice Baked Potato Casserole Mac N Cheese Salad Rolls
For dessert I'm making a trifle
My mom is bringing Prime Rib and I'm not sure what else.
I was thinking of roasted asparagus or something, but it's not really in season. I can skip the mac n cheese, but I feel like we still will need another side.
My sister requested to host Christmas Day dinner this year as she won't have her sons and wants to distract herself. I just know there's ham and prime rib and the goof asked me if she should have turkey, too!! (There's 11 of us total!) I offered to bring dessert, not sure what sides she's having.
Christmas Eve dinner we usually do casual - plate of sliced meats and cheeses with breads, roasted nuts, etc.
Thanks for reminding me I need to make our Christmas Eve dinner reservation! We go out for Italian food. And wine. Oh I can not wait for the wine.
Christmas Day my parents cook a turkey. I was told I have to recreate the Mac and cheese from Thanksgiving and we told my mom she has to make the sweet potato dish from thanksgiving. No idea what else we will have.
Tiff roasted Brussels sprouts would be a tasty side for your dinner. I like to roast them in bacon grease
Christmas Eve is my dad's birthday and we always do a bunch of appetizers. Christmas dinner is at my sister's, and we're having ham, homemade rolls, Brussels sprouts, scalloped potatoes, and salad.
I'd make another veggie - Brussels sprouts or broccoli maybe. Brussels sprouts roasted with some chopped craisins and almonds, or with some fresh pomegranate seeds?
this is our menu... I'm making most of it, but not all. I need to figure out at least 1 more appetizer - if you all have a good appetizer recipe that doesn't need to go in the oven, link it here.
Appetizers: orange glazed meatballs
Main dish: Peking duck (ILs friends are taking care of this) Pierogi Beef roast butternut squash lasagna - vegetarian Rolls Broccoli Mashed potatoes Ramen Salad
larzhope veggie tray or if you want to be fancy: cucumber rounds with a thin round of herbed goat cheese (just slice a TJs log) on top. You can add a piece of fresh dill to top it prettily
@sotally tober Ditto brussel sprouts. H has made a really tasty recipe before with hazelnut brown butter, toss the halved sprouts in it, add more chopped nuts, spread on sheet and top with shredded parm or Grana and roast.
