This is a XP with the H&G board but I added some comments about what has and hasn't been working for us so far. I'm finally getting around to posting pictures of our little girl's nursery. I started with the rug and based the colors of the room around it.
We love, love our Keekaroo changing pad. It is so easy to clean and doesn't slip on the top of the dresser. The gray color can only be found on giggle.com. Both lamps are on a separate switch which is really handy when you don't want any overhead lights. Also we've found the lamp on the dresser to be especially helpful when you're trying to make sure you got everything during diaper changes. We use it even when the room is otherwise well lit. The Diaper Dekor has been really easy to use as well. We used the locking feature when our friend's very curious toddler was over and the dog hasn't attempted to get in it. The hamper is from Bed Bath & Beyond. The waterproof material is nice because I've been drying out wet clothes on the lid before putting them in the hamper. I hang a small mesh bag for baby socks inside.
The room is the small of our two spare bedrooms. I was originally going to get a leather pouf as well but I couldn't decide on what color to get so it hasn't happened yet. Now that we've lived without it I'm not sure it's necessary for feeding. We do often pull in a wooden chair for more seating as all of our company wants to see the nursery and hang out in there.
Now for some details.
The chair was the big splurge in the room. It is Best Blain that we special ordered from BBB in this fabric. It swivels, glides, and reclines. I love it and so does everyone who sits in it! I've spent a lot of time in this chair so I'm glad I got something nice. I got a big basket from HomeGoods to hold my BF pillow, burp rag, and any other things I might need while feeding. Right now I'm actually using the MBF in the chair and keeping the Boppy in the LR since we also use it as a place to set her on the couch.
I designed this butterfly wing kaleidoscope print in Photoshop and had it printed on poster board at Costco for $4. It was inspired by a piece I found years ago.
These prints on plywood were a shower present.
I asked my mom to sew this awesome quilt. I ordered/collected a bunch of solid color fabric samples and matched them to the rug. We cut them out and determined the pattern together.
My dad made this bookcase to fit under the window and still allow for air movement from the register behind it (it even has offset back legs so it won't hit the tall baseboards we made). It's made of formica so it's super durable and heavy. The tapered legs were tricky to make.
Pillows made by my mom and pink fox blabla doll.
My sister and I made this mobile. We cheated though and ordered the knit bees off etsy. : ) C loves to contrast and will immediately stop crying when she sees them moving.
Adjustable crib skirt with box pleat also made by my mom.
I wanted to hang my favorite photo of my grandma as a girl (the one with the teddy bear) and decided to collect photos of female relatives from both sides of the family.
Ikea shelves that we ordered extra long and deep so we could cut them down to hit the studs. I spray painted the silver brackets brass to go with the other accents in the room.
The dresser was a CL find (as well as the crib). It was in really rough shape when we saw it in person though. DH decided to completely revamp it and spent 4 months doing just that. Now it's an amazing piece we'll have for a long time!
DH added a light to the center of the room. I love this scalloped shape. I ordered the white shade and spray painted the metal piece brass.
DH made this Pottery Barn inspired curtain rod out of copper pipe and a wall bracket he made. My mom sewed the curtains out of matching quilt fabric. We added a fun mini pom pom trim.

LOVE IT! It looks like a room that isn't necessarily a nursery, but has some lovely touches for your sweet babe (incidentally, that's what we are going for also.)
This is fantastic!!! Wow! I love the colors and the feel of everything.
Love the idea of the basket by the chair. Also very interested in that changing pad, I'm going to look into that too.
Where is the beautiful floral print above the dresser from?
Thanks everyone! I loved seeing all the other great nursery pictures people posted on here so I thought I'd share mine.
It's from Minted. Link. I got the 11x14 size but then had a hard time finding an inexpensive frame so I got an Ikea frame and had some custom matting cut. Most of the frames are from Ikea. Oh and the purple container holding the diapers is a drawer divider from Ikea as well. I got a couple sets for the dresser drawers and they work great with all of the little baby clothes and accessories.
I love every bit of your nursery. It is absolutely gorgeous! The basket by the chair is a brilliant idea. I'm gonna have to find me a basket.
I can't take credit for the basket idea. I got that from another GBCNer that used to be on this board. It took me a little while to find a basket big enough but we just got our first HomeGoods and they had lots of options. I keep a box of kleenex, nursing pads, and lanolin in there typically.

Where did you get the rug?
It's from RugsUSA. Link. I got it for $235 on a 70% off sale with free shipping. They have so many sales so if you hold out you can usually get a good price. It's plush and soft. I really like it! I also got an upgraded foam rug pad from Amazon because I didn't want it to damage the new HW floors we put in (I personally did the 4 layers of poly and sanding in between and I don't want to have to do that over anytime soon ). It should be a good place for her to crawl around and play on the floor in the future.
Gorgeous! Just gorgeous. You have a talented family. I especially love the dresser and quilt.
We also had to add a lamp for diaper changes. I joke that cleaning up newborn poop is like playing a game of Asteroids. Also agree on needing extra seating for guests!
