How long did it take you to read each book?
For me, books 1-4 I read pretty quickly. For some reason book 5 is taking me fucking forever! Thought part of the problem was I went through a no reading spell. I'm at least half-way through! My goal is to read it before the end of the year.
I read book 5 in about... 10 days? But that was partially because I read it RIGHT when it was released and partially because my husband, who seriously reads 1 book a year, finished it in 8 days and wanted to discuss it. Normally 2-3 weeks per book. My reading record is 112 books per year, but normally I'm closer to 50.

ForEVER. I am usually a pretty quick reader, but for whatever reason these books go pretty slowly for me. I enjoy them, but I definitely have no trouble putting them down. I love a few of the story lines, but I find a couple of them somewhat boring, so when the book changes to those point of view chapters, I tend to sort of put the book down and wander away, and not pick it up for a while.
I think 5 is the one I first started over a year ago. I picked it up again about 6 months ago, but got to about the same point then put it down.
I started the 5th book about a year ago. I got 80% through and couldn't do it anymore. I picked it up again last week and finally made it to the epilogue! This one is not exciting. So far one thing happened that had me like, "oh daaaaang!" but that was toward the end.
Has there been any word when the next one is slated to come out? I mean it's only been what two years since the last one which isn't long apparently.
Last word was he's working on it and leave him alone.
People would if he didn't wax poetic about the Jets on Livejournal and travel to every comic and fantasy convention known to man.
I mean it took, what, 5 years for the 5th one to be released? And that was after people assumed he was 1/2 way done (having cut a bunch out of book 4). And then it turns out he rewrote it. He's like the Stanley Kubrick of fantasy.
