Anyone else see this? I'm excited - I was just looking at booking a people-to-people tour there. But I still want to get there before the masses of other Americans! :-)

If the U.S. opens up travel to Cuba, I definitely want to go before it gets super touristy. My boyfriend's parents are from Cuba, but he told me he doesn't have a strong interest in going there Oh well, I'll just go then!
There's been a Cuba tourism ad running in the train station the last few weeks. Every time I see the ads I get jealous, since there are so many affordable package trips!
sunshinedaydreams, I did see that! We just booked our Cuba tour last week and we are going in March. I'm so excited. Even with it opening up more, I'm actually really looking forward to the people-to-people component of it, because I think it will be interesting. My H is dreading the fact it will be all the olds with us. Oh well.
ETA: The good news is that I can now point to this article for when I tell my parents we are going to Cuba, because I'm sure that would have gotten the side-eye from them.
I had just started looking into people-to-people tours a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm not sure if I want to book with them, or if I want to wait it out and see if prices will come down. I'm wondering if they'll still do chartered flights, or when commercial flights might actually start. We're looking to go in May.
I feel like we always end up on vacation with the olds. I assume this trip will be no different.

I am pretty sure that Congress actually has to vote on it before full open travel is allowed. I think they also have to vote on lifting the embargo. So my actual feeling of liklihood that it will happen soon is low considering both houses of Congress will be controlled by Republicans.
