DH and I want to plan a trip somewhere, but are kind of clueless as to where to go. We were going to try and get away to Mexico for a 3 night stay, or even do a cruise, but the idea of spending thousands of dollars for a 3-night vacation just doesn't seem worth it.
We recently went to Vegas and NYC, and those were pretty decently priced (airfare and hotel), plus we were super busy sight-seeing (DH likes to keep busy). We've thrown around the idea of going to Boston, but I'd rather not visit in the middle of winter. Any ideas? Maybe New Orleans?
Is Napa/Sonoma out of the question? Seattle Santa Barbara? San Fran Sun Valley Idaho in winter is supposed to be spectacular any where mid west would be fun even if you don't ski - fires and wine and snow shoeing and sleigh rides
New Orleans sounds good. Savannah, Charleston, or Santa Fe could also be good options depending on flights. I think New York is also a timeless option.

We definitely plan on going back to NYC. Our trip there was amazing...we miss it!

I've always wanted to go to California, so I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks for all of your suggestions
No really you should go. I never respected NOLA until I left. I never knew that it has such a unique and special cultural experience until I realized elsewhere in America is nothing like New Orleans. If you go next year before Ash Wednesday you can experience the Mardi Gras!
If you choose NOLA, let me know. I will be happy to help plan your trip, meet for cocktails, give you a tour, whatever! Mardi Gras is 2/17.
How did I not know this?!
Ah, Cher.!i do not know. Next time you down the bayou, we pass a good time with Gaston and Boudreaux (haha)! Seriously, I knew your family was from down here from some of your posts, but I don't think there's another probie within 250 miles.
