the thought of hot deli meat really grosses me out. could i heat it, let it cool and then put it on a sandwich? i would do that... and i have eaten tuna, but i heard something about it possibly not being as safe as previously thought, so i try not to eat more than 1-2 sandwiches per week just in case.
Yep. I would assemble my sandwich, and stick it in the freezer for like 2 minutes. Cools the whole thing down nicely. I also am ick about hot deli meat. Also, heating the meat is literally the first thing I do. Then I let it cool while I get out my bread, condiments, cheese, veggies, etc.
And one can of tuna should only last you 1-2 sandwiches anyway. The one can of tuna per week thing, I got straight from my OB prenatal packet and dog eared the page.
