I got my bike back last night! The officer said there were a ton of other really nice road bikes recovered, but I was the only one who reported mine stolen and had the serial number. PSA to everyone. Keep your serial number on hand if you have a nice bike. It is obviously on your bike but you can also find it in your purchase paperwork. The place you bought it from will also have record.
Learn from us! Also lock up your bikes even when they are in a secured garage.
I was so happy to see my beauty again. I have an abnormal attachment to that silly thing. It is one of the few luxury items I own and I am really proud of it.
We find out today if the seller will accept our offer. From what our agent tells us, it sounds like they will. We have an inspection lined up for Monday.
If we get it, we are telling ss on Christmas Eve and going over there so he can pick a room. I know, I know, jumping the gun a bit, but I can't help it!
I had to run to the store this morning for some Christmas shopping. It is really nice to do it before they are crowded.
I am pretty close to getting the Christmas for home done. Still have the Christmas for my dad's to do.
Found out my MIL is coming to stay at our house Christmas week. . She is a nice lady but very needy and I just wanted to enjoy Christmas with my family. Oh well. So now I need to buy another gift.

I'm finalizing plans to go visit a friend in Arizona and I'm so fucking excited I could scream. She was a teacher of mine during my senior year that sort of took me under her wing when my mom and I couldn't even be in the same room as each other and hated each other's guts for a few years. (puddleofgrace - she may look familiar!?)
She retired in June of 2013 and moved to Arizona that August. I'm going to spend five glorious days there in September where we will swim in her pool and shop and drink wine. No kids or husband to deal with. (Well, her husband is obviously going to be there but he's cool) I love old ladies so much.
And a shout out to overalls and the year 2000! ha ha ha
We just got an email from our principal warns of a particularly nasty virus going around. Over 40 kids out today and plenty of staff as well. Ugh. <washes hands vigorously>

yeah-my son was sent home early Tuesday with a fever and is still out today. They had 75 kids out on Tuesday at his school. Yuck.

I woke up in the middle of the night with the baby and I was so dizzy. I actually fell sideways into the wall in hallway it was so bad. I just had to stand there leaning up against the wall yelling for DH to come get the baby. I drank some water and sat for awhile before going back to bed. It was weird and scary.
My lunch break is already all messed up. The school sent home a flyer for their Christmas shop saying it was tomorrow, but then I got an email from the teacher that it's actually today so I have to run dd over money.
FS, how wonderful for you. (heart) Will you two have time together at Christmas or are there concrete plans in other directions? (understandable, of course) It is fun to be witness to this with you.
Also, unrelated, has anyone seen wambam recently? Where has she been? I miss her perky avatar showing up in posts. I hope she's okay? Maybe she's on an exotic trip! (idea)
Eddy, that's great about your bike getting returned! We had our bikes stolen from our garage a long, LONG time ago. About a year ago we saw DH's bike chained up outside a restaurant. It was a white, thick-framed bike with very specific wiring that he had rerun himself in other colors so it was custom to him. I said "Should we steal it back?" and DH said no, because it wasn't like we were stealing from the thief, for sure. If we knew the thief was the one riding it, SURE, but if someone paid the thief, well...
AND...DH replaced that bike with 2 other $$$$ bikes so he is well-covered in bikes, not including the bike he had the Wee Ride seat on for biking around with our son before he learned to ride, so yeah, we have 3 for DH, 1 for DS and 1 for me. We are covered.
But I will second your PSA and say: Lock your bikes even in your garage! Also, ours weren't locked, AND I had unlocked the side door to our (detached) garage for maybe 5 days because I couldn't find my garage door opener...and in that time someone went shopping for free bikes out of garages.
A thief would be hard-pressed to get free bikes from us now. I am so happy, eddy, that you got your bikes back. I wonder how common that is? Did they catch the person/people that did it or did they just recover the bikes?
I have a hair appt at 1. and ordered some hair extensions for her to dye and they're currently on the FedEx truck. Please FedEx, come by 1230! I wish there was a way to track the damn truck, lol.
My teenager is annoying me lately with his " I know it all" attitude. Last night I wanted to lay into him because he said he didn't need to study for his finals. They don't affect his grade that much. I tried to tell him yes they do and you should always do your best he gave me the whatever Mom. We shall see when his grades come and if they are not at least all B's if he's getting to take his behind the wheel class.
I'm irrationally annoyed with a friend (same friend who stayed with my earlier this year and re-arranged my stuff).
She is living overseas and posts things on FB about how she doesn't like that the country she is in "celebrates" Christmas even though they are mainly not Christian. Yet, she apparently can't grasp the entire concept of Xmas trees and Santa (etc.) don't have anything to do with the Christmas either, in the religious sense at least.
UGH.
She also sent out a letter with her Xmas card, that was in like 6 point font and covered the entire paper, about what her and her H have been up to. It was drivel and I didn't read past like 3 sentences before I tossed it.

I need someone to tell me to stop buying stuff for J. I almost just spent another $75 for Skylanders. I love buying him stuff. I wish I could afford stuff.
Tapatalk is back to allowing gifs. I collected a bunch of funny justin timberlake ones and I'm waiting for the right opportunity to use them. If people for real aired grievances in that thread I could use ALL OF THEM.
I am really craving a burger for lunch. But I'm supposed to be on a Dr. ordered diet without fatty/greasy/rich things. But I waaaaaant it! I guess I'll go get a fukkin salad.

I may be going to buy a few more Thomas trains today....for the stocking...cause he can't have too much candy, he's only 2.
It only took me 45 min to clean up/out the rec room and get it vacuumed. It would've taken longer, but I didn't bother going through the boxes marked "office". If DH needs anything in them he can dig through them.
However, it looks like I spent allll day on it. Which means now I can screw around for the rest of the afternoon and DH will think I was super productive.
Our new trash can went missing and suspiciously our neighbors across the street now have a very similar trash can sitting on their porch that wasn't there before.
I guess this is what happens when you don't spray paint your address on the can, and your husband leaves it out front for 3 days.
Broken record, but WHY is this week taking so damn long?
I'm hoping DH and I can both get out of work a little early to finish up our Christmas shopping so we don't have to do it Saturday. I do NOT want to be anywhere near a shopping center the weekend before Christmas.
I'm pretty sure I'm getting a sewing machine for Christmas, so I'm pinning aaaallll the "easy beginner project!" pins.
Yay for new sewing machine! May I suggest danamadeit.com - super easy kids patterns. She really demystifies the sewing process. Have fun!
Quoting so I can find this website again! Dd is getting a sewing machine for Christmas too so this will be helpful!
