I know you have to wait until at least one year to give honey but does that also means nothing processed with honey as an ingredient, like honey wheat bread for example?
We accidentally gave her bread with honey a couple of times. I didn't sweat it, but didn't do it again, once I realized.
I gave DD a purée that had some marinara in it for the first time today. By the time she was done, her cheeks were bright red anywhere she had smeared the food. Typical reaction to the acid in the tomatoes? Or something to worry about? Should I wait until she's older (10 months now) to give her tomato products, or just power through the red cheeks and feed her whatever she's willing to eat?
I don't know the answer to this but I've had something similar happen when I gave DD red bell peppers (cooked). Tomatoes and peppers are both nightshades which I know can cause inflammation in some people? She also had some redness on her butt when it came out the other end.
Realistically, how often should we break on a long car trip with a 14 month old (he's pretty chill, if that matters).
Only if you have to. Or try to base it off meals and if there's a place where he can run around. We stopped at a mall once with food and a carousel so that was a big hit.
1) when will my 17 mo old use a spoon? She still definitely prefers her fingers, and can get the spoon into her mouth, but doesn't get the scooping motion.
B is only at like 30% with the spoon at 18 months. He likes it but sometimes just to hold as he shovels food into his mouth with his hands. Sometimes the food falls out before it gets to his mouth. And sometimes lately he will just hand the spoon to me and expect me to help him. I say just make sure she has a spoon or fork and it should eventually work itself out.
Any tips on how to clean infants neck rolls? Both babies get gross stuff built up in there and some skin irritation but make it super difficult for me to get in and clean out the skin folds, usually it takes both DH and I to do it.
Soap up your finger and wiggle it around in there. (Hmm, that sounds odder than I meant it!) It was the only way I could clean out DD's neck folds when she was little. A washcloth was always too difficult for some reason. I'd try to do it once a day, not necessarily during a bath.
(And for the record, I learned the finger trick here. DD was definitely a stinky baby before I asked the same question)
Thanks that is helpful. Anytime I try with a wash cloth they clench their heads down so a finger might be easier.

Once we start giving WCM at daycare, should I send separate cups for every meal like I do bottles? They don't provide milk at all. He already gets one sippy a day in place of his bottle at 10.5 months and does great with it. I was kinda hoping I could send a big thing of milk and sippy that they could refill, maybe? His current teacher isn't sure what the rules are so I was wondering what other centers do!
When is it appropriate to switch to a convertible car seat?
E is 3 months and 15 pounds. She almost never sleeps in her infant seat and generally seems to dislike it. Also lugging her around in the seat is getting tough for me.
Am I nuts for thinking about switching to a convertible sometime soon-ish?
Anytime is fine as long as the seat supports it! We started using our NextFit at 3 months for daycare pickup. He was pretty tiny but still fit great.

I kept my kids in he infant seat for a long time, but just started leaving in the car unless it was cold and I wanted the seat warm or baby was sleeping.

Do I need to be worried about my 15 month old not talking? He babbles a ton, and does a few signs, but I'm not totally convinced he knows what he's signing. He does follow requests and point to body parts, etc.

I vote nope. We are in the same boat at 17 mo. She can make animal noises, and point out a million things, but doesn't really talk at all aside from babble.
