Yeah, I'd like see a list of the worst airports that service over x number of flyers per day. Is O'Hare REALLY as unreliable as I think it is?
I'd also like to see a ranking of airport facilities. Is Laguardia REALLY as bad as I remember it?
I think it's noteworthy that a lot of these airports are not only super small, but also in snowy climates. Small planes + infrequent flights + snowy weather = bad times.
The answer is always yes.
Then again, I hate all things LaGuardia. Ever since I spent FIFTEEN HOURS THERE waiting for my stupid flight.
MY PARENTS KEEP TRYING TO GET ME TO FLY INTO WATERTOWN. Now I just drive. The only people who use it are military, but it's only an hour or less to Syracuse. Same with New Castle - DE didn't even have a commercial airport for a while, because you can just drive to Philly.
But I call shenanigans. Newark is the worst airport in the world.
Watertown about 70 miles to Syracuse.....however, it is on a stretch of highway that can be REALLY ugly in the winter.

Eh, well, they live south of Watertown and Hancock airport is north of Syracuse, so it's like 45-50 minutes.
I know, they want to avoid driving between Sandy Creek and Central Square, which is the worst stretch. I've been stuck there/turned around in winter before because of the snow. It's like when I was growing up - I lived south of Buffalo, which was actually way snowier than the city of Buffalo. Say what you will about cities being snowy, but there are rural areas that get even more!
But this was when I lived in CA, so now I drive my own car and if I get stuck on 81, at least my parents are safe in their house.

I used to drive that stretch regularly between Auburn and Plattsburgh. I finally gave up going that way and drive the Thruway/Northway (during the winter) because of too many near misses, even though the other way is longer. The other stretch of road I hate driving is I90 through PA into NY. It can be totally clear, and then blizzarding in a heartbeat.
That being said, we regularly fly out of Seattle even though it's 100 miles and very ugly traffic. SO has had too many commuter flights canceled on him to trust that he'll get home.
