I was at a party a few weeks ago where the host served appetizer-sized "chicken and waffles"-they sliced up chicken tenders, and served them on top of Eggo Minis with some provolone cheese and a drizzle of syrup. No idea if you want to put that much work into it, but they WERE delicious.
At our Christmas party this weekend, we had: stuffed mushrooms, bacon-wrapped water chestnuts, spinach and sausage arancini, wings, spinach-artichoke dip, buffalo chicken dip, A LOT OF CHEESE, a meat tray (prosciutto/salami), bourbon meatballs, vegetable pizza, mini pepperoni rolls, and other things I'm forgetting.
And I barely got to eat any of it. Worst day ever.
2 c. baking mix 4 c. shredded cheddar cheese 1 lb. bulk sausage
Combine all three ingredients in a large bowl. Knead the mixture by squeezing handfuls to form clumps, then break up the clumps and repeat until everything is thoroughly and evenly mixed.
When you're done kneading, roll into 1" balls, and spread them on a baking sheet that fits in your freezer. Freeze sausage balls, and store frozen in an airtight container or bag.
To bake, preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake sausage balls until cooked through and browned, about 15 minutes.
I haven't had these yet this holiday season and I'm seriously considering making them just for my family. Do we need six million pounds of meatballs? Not at all. Does the thought makes me drool a little? Absofuckinglutely.

You know what's better than grape jelly? Apricot preserves, bbq sauce, and chili powder! Slightly spicy but still super sweet.

THis is an interesting idea. Perhaps a taste-off? We don't do anything special or go anywhere for NYE, so maybe that is our thing this year?

Yep my dad changed the recipe when I was a kid and they've always been a hit. I also put cocktail weenies in with them and now you have saucy weenies and balls.
Bacon wrapped little smokies (or bacon wrapped water chestnuts or bacon wrapped cream cheese jalapenos...basically bacon wrapped anything) and the mini lasagnas that bobby posted.

Is this the chili sauce, grape jelly, and meatballs in the crockpot recipe? I tried to make these once and burned the heck out of them. I may need to try again.
Yeah it is. Did you turn the crockpot up too high? I do the sauce on the stove first and then pour it over frozen meatballs. Turn the crockpot on high for a bit and then turn it down low when I can smell it.

They are the best things ever and the haters can just step to the left. Grape jelly, frozen grocery store meatballs, chili sauce. Crock pot. Boom. Deliciousness.
