Me! I was rooting for Natalie, so I was happy with the result. I thought she played a great game.
I guess I didn't watch that closely, because I didn't realize until last night that the reason Keith always seemed so clueless was because he'd never really seen the show before. He seemed like a nice guy, but not particularly game-savvy.
I was not a huge Missy/Baylor fan, but I would have been fine had any of the other 3 won.
I would have been happy with either Nat or Keith but Nat was my first choice so yay!
I was surprised to see Reed vote for Jaclyn but then I read a theory about him doing it in order to give her a second vote ensuring Missy came in 3rd. Interesting. Thoughts?

I could see that. I was surprised, too, but it makes sense.
I'm happy Natalie won. I think she played the best game. It was a pretty "derp" season and I don't feel like there were many strong players.
Not sure how I feel about the concept for next season.
I would have rather seen Jaclyn win. I thought she was less shady than Natalie. I would have been fine with Missy winning b/c even though I didn't particularly care for Baylor, at least Missy stood by her word.
I was rooting for Keith, but man, Natalie has balls! Good for her for being so awesome at the challenges, speaking her mind, and taking control of the game. Too many times, players lose the game because they are afraid to make moves. She definitely was the Survivor this season.

I hate it when previous contestants win, but I preferrred Nat to either of the other two. And I'm still pissed at Keith for ruining the chance to get rid of Jon earlier in the game.
I thought Natalie was the quintessential Survivor player, and she absolutely deserved to win. One thing I liked about this season was that there were more people and fewer personalities. It might make for a kind of "blah" season as far as dramatics, but I found it a lot more enjoyable.
I have to say, I'm really surprised at how much I rooted for Natalie, considering Dh and I were actively rooting against her and her sister when they were on Amazing Race.

I felt the same way about Natalie. I was surprised that I was rooting for Natalie when I couldn't stand her and her sister on Amazing Race. I considered not watching Survivor because Natalie and Nadiya annoyed me so much. I think Natalie was a lot less annoying when her sister wasn't around.
Great season! I too actively disliked Nat and Nad on AR, but loved Nat on Survivor.
I'm super stoked for next season (I've seen every single episode of this show in its 15 year run). Not sure about the concept, I guess we'll see how this one plays out.
I did just buy the 30-season buff. It seemed an appropriate souvenir for a show I love so much.
Natalie was a stand-alone player. I'm shocked that Jaclyn took her to the final, but I'm glad she won.
What does the second place player win? I'd not considered Reed's vote to ensure Missy got third, but it makes sense. I loved his speech, and I'm glad he didn't apologize for it.
In the reunion, the guy sitting behind Reed was an older man... Who played with his daughter, right? Who was dressed in the totally bizarre, leopard print dress? Was it his daughter sitting next to him?

Unless it's changed, I believe 2nd place gets 100k. I don't remember the break down after that.

And I do think it was his daughter in the leopard if I'm remembering correctly from the little they ahowes. And I am remembering $100,000 for 2nd as well.
I don't think anything other than 1st and 2nd win a specific prize amount. I know they get paid a certain per diem for however long they last on the show (I believe Big Brother works the same way), but it's not anywhere near the 100K or 1 million, obvs.
Didn't Survivor used to have Fan Favorite for 25K or something similar? What happened to that?

I thought this was exactly why Natalie should have won over Jaclyn. Jaclyn kind of just fell into the final three. Natalie made big (albeit "shady," but that's the game) moves. She definitely made it more interesting to watch. I loved when she played the idol on Jaclyn's behalf. I didn't watch her on Amazing Race but she bugged me at the beginning, too. Keith had some iffy moments throughout the season but he was pretty inoffensive in the last few episodes.
I was rooting for Natalie by the end and Keith was a strong second for me. I wish Probst would have asked the jury who would have won if both Natalie and Keith were in the final three. I was indifferent to Missy. I mean, I don't think she was as loyal as she said she played but Reed's speech was way over the top. The only person Missy really had control over was Baylor, imo, and even she broke from Missy to vote out Jon.
I can't get excited about Missy. She just seemed completely benign, especially at the end. She should win because her life is hard and she broke her foot? No.
Natalie was a lying liar, but she played the game. I would love to see her on a heroes v. villains.

Which would you consider her? I don't think of her as a hero but she also doesn't ping near the top of my villain category either.
I just hope they change the rules so if you are physically unable to compete in the challenges, you can't stay in the game. That wasn't fair at all that Missy got to stay in and not participate in any of the challenges.

I would consider her a villain. She's smart and conniving.

I felt the same way, but then I figured, well, she couldn't win reward or immunity, and it actually makes it easier for the other players to win, so...
I found an old article from 2006 about the DTD operations of the game. I'm about 3 pages in...interesting! It's probably pretty similar now, even 8 years later (I came across it when I was looking for the information about how the per diems I referenced in an earlier post).
I'm trying to link it here but it's not working. I did find the info I was looking for.
Sekou may have been voted out first, but he will receive $2,500 (all players who are booted are given a parting cash prize, which increases incrementally based on the length of their stay) and will soon be sent — along with other non-jury members — to an undisclosed location for an all-expenses-paid trip that will last until filming's done. Life could be much worse.
