Please teach me about podcasts

I am pretty damn tech savvy, but I've never listened to a podcast before. Well, before today. I listened to the first episode of Serial today because I needed to know WTF you guys were talking about. 

So, um, I know about that one. Please recommend more. I like all kinds of things. 
Help me find some!

The only one I've ever listen to is Mark Maron. H got me onto it. I fast forward all of his talking at the beginning to get to the interview, lol.

I mostly listen to NPR shows that are released as podcasts: This American Life, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, The Splendid Table, Car Talk, Radio Lab.

History Chicks
This American Life (this is what Serial spun off from)
Savage Love (sex)
Fresh Air (depending on subject/guest)
Judge John Hodgman (this has no swearing so good around kids)
I just added:
Splendid Table (food and drinks)
Stuff you missed in History class

You can listen to some on their website: www.thisamericanlife.org/

Most people subscribe to the podcasts in iTunes and update their device/cloud there.

I really love "The Longest Shortest Time." It is a parenting podcast. 25-30 minute episodes that share a variety of stories from mother/fatherhood. Really, really great.

(Sydney's a dr and it's about the history of medical things. Epilepsy, pregnancy tests, gout, etc.)
