I can't wrap to save my life. Four hours of fun later and I have crinkled packages with abstract looking ends everywhere. I'm telling everyone Rubes helped (Which did for about 34 seconds).
And I got half way through the stash and was all screw that. Gift bags for everyone!

DS has really been struggling with writing in pre k. Tonight, he signed his name all by himself and addressed the teachers' names with the help of dotted lines drawn by me. This is such an improvement over a couple months ago when he could barely push a pencil hard enough to mark a paper.

My dad taught me to wrap well. Then he shamed me for making my own gift bags, before gift bags were a common thing. I wrap all my gifts and do it well. My husband is also a very careful wrapper. We are ridiculous and should be mocked .
DS insists on watching "Crosty the Snowman" every night. We watched it twice on Sunday. Frosty is definitely ranked higher than Santa in this house right now.

My MIL is baptizing DS when we visit over Christmas. She doesn't want him in limbo and this is seriously keeping her up at night. I'm atheist. Her priest told her that her baptism would be just as "effective" as a real one from a religious figure. That terminology made me chuckle.

I'm on the train home right now.
We are going to hit up the Christmas lights at the zoo tonight with a friend and her 11 year old daughter. She's great with the boys and it's going to be awesome when she can start babysitting in a few years.

What the what now? How is this even possible without your permission? And how is her priest not a real religious figure?
I'm more religious than 99% of MMM and I don't understand this at all.

When my oldest was a baby we decided not to baptize him. We are both catholic but my DH was against baptizing him and I didn't have strong feelings either way (we never go to church). Anyway, my grandmother kept saying she could do it herself and no one would even know. I finally said "i'm sure you've probably already done it."
I asked a Jewish friend why the menorah is always on foil when I see pictures of it on FB and stuff, thinking there was some sort of interesting religious symbolism to it. She was like, "uh, to keep the wax off the counter?" and then I felt super dumb, LOL.
I am really stressed at work and tonight I was trying to respond to an email where someone ridiculously asked me to alter a standard government form/pdf. H walked into my office holding a baby wrapped in a towel and stood there doing who knows what. Next thing I know she pees all over a box containing original documents. I wanted to kill him.
I'm doing my pay it forward for the holidays and cleaning out my closet and J's closet and sending it home with my mom for her employees.
J passed out on me with just a diaper on. I put him down but really need to go put PJ's on him. I'm sure he'll wake up when I do. He's so miserable because he's sick.

Is she killing you first and then stopping over your dead body?

I gave her permission. She asked if I minded. I do mind a baptism in the church (since I'm atheist I think it would be horrible to do that to appease family) but I don't mind her little prayer over him or whatever it might be.
Regarding "religious figure" I guess I was using the term casually. A priest seems like a religious figure compared to a layperson.

are you ok with this?
the priest is correct - my mom baptized all of us in her sink at the hospital because the nuns growing up scared her. Then in the true Catholic way she lied to her priest about it so we could later have church baptisms
Yeah, I'm fine with it. She asked us to choose godparents but I told her I wasn't comfortable with that.
